I think taffy only looks better in the pail, but I do like fudge! I guess it depends on what's more important to you.
@sehrler: It might not count cause I'm in the UK, but I've never tasted taffy, so I voted for fudge and taffy to be safe :)
I voted for the combo. While I really like them both, I know my father and a few other people do not like taffy because it gets stuck to their teeth. A combo, he could eat the fudge and my mom could get the taffy!
If there any way you could do a combination of both? If not I would go with the fudge combo!
@MrsMeNow: do you mean, one bucket of the combo, one bucket of the taffy only? I could do that for couples, at the price they are I'm trying to stay at one favor per person but if they are a couple I could do one of each.
I would prefer the fudge/taffy combo. And I dont know if this is totally crude of me to say, but the way the taffy is packaged looks like a tampon :/

I voted taffy only but I'm conflicted - I like the look of taffy only, I LOVE saltwater taffy, but I have found (to my surprise) that not everyone likes taffy. So maybe the combo would be better. Also I'd say that 1 per couple would be enough and would save you some money.
I love the first combo! At first glance I thought the all taffy in the pail tookd like tampons- sorry! Maybe because of the white wrapper with the writing, the taffy in the top pic didn't make me think of that
I think either are awesome, but I chose the taffy only since I'm not big on fudge. I also think the taffy is more "nautical" and don't feel like fugde really fits into your theme.
I would do the half and half combo. Sounds like a great idea! Can't go wrong with edible favors!
LMAO @ the tampon comments! IRL it doesn't look like that thank God 
and I agree that the saltwater taffy fits the theme but was leaning towards variety in case some people don't like or can't eat the taffy. I mean, it's only a favor so I'm not going to get crazy (probably half the people couldn't care less and will throw it away) but I appreciate all the feedback. And if anyone has any better ideas for the theme, throw em out there!
one of my BMs pointed out that after the bucket is empty you can put votives in it--even citronellas for outside.
I voted for the combo, b/c I hate saltwater taffy *don't stone me* This way everyone is more likely to get a snack, and they can hand off the taffy to those that love it :-)
P.S. - that was supposed to say, "Favors for the half bar of fudge/3 piece taffy pail with a little (generic plastic) KNIFE" to cut the fudge, pails are galvanized. Can't edit the post.

We are having a nautical theme and I am pretty sure I will do these as favors, but I wanted to get a sense of which people like better (I have my suspicions!). Also, if anyone thinks this is a lame favor that people won't like, say so before I decide on them! This place was great, they sent me the fudge/saltwater taffy pail as a free sample. The girl was really nice. Favors for the half bar of fudge/3 piece taffy pail with a little (generic plastic) are only a few cents more than the taffy only pail (10 pieces of taffy). With the # we have to order, the customized ribbons and printing are free, and obviously I can tailor the taffy colors to our theme.
