Based on your description, I was going to suggest the last dress you tried on! It’s my dress, and I’m having straps added to it . . . Still debating whether they’ll be spaghetti or made from the material cut off the hem . . . Would something like that work for you?

Have you checked out the wtoo line specifically for curvy ladies? http://watters.com/Collection/WtooBrides/Featured:WtooCurve/

that was orignally my go to, although I ended up choosing a different Watters dress.

I think the Bellavista gown would be lovely on you. illusion neckline, a bit of lace. Although, I think it’s slightly over your budget.

Good luck!

IceStormRed:  The second one looks fantastic on you!  It’s beautiful.

You’re definitely on the right track with the shape, and you sound like a lace girl. I like the tiered skirt one with straps on you best.

I second the suggestion for WTOO curve, especially this one:

Bellavista would be lovely, too, but I tried it on and it was super itchy!

The last one! you look amazing!! and I prefer the white flower over the blush!! Like a PP said, add straps! Either way, definitely my choice.

I think the second one with straps looks great! I’m not a big fan of tea length, never looks flattering to me unless someone is very tall and thin. And I would avoid the shape of the last one… the skirt is not full enough to balance out your upper body. Frankly, in that dress, the eye is naturally drawn to looking at your boobs.  I think PPs who said they loved it are maybe just loving the DRESS and the price but not thinking about your shape in it (not to put words in their mouth).

BurlapnLace:  I love this dress! Great suggestion. It’s got the fit of the last one incorporating the lace 🙂

IceStormRed:  i tried on and loved the tiered one! something about it just felt so special. i ended up going with a different dress but still think about it often. you look gorgeous in it. i think that’s my favorite out of the ones you’ve tried on- it does a great job accentuating your waist!  however, you obviously aren’t in love with it (or any dresses) so i definitely think you should keep looking.  i’m sorry that you aren’t enjoying dress shopping, but i think you’ll have better luck shopping more in person than ordering something online.

Based on your description I’m going to suggest the dress I got for our wedding: it’s pretty, affordable and practical.

Now, I realize when I look on the page that it doesn’t go up that far in sizes, but perhaps you could head over to a David’s Bridal and ask them if they could get it in your size? Also, not sure where you live, but I’m in Canada and the dress was almost $300 less in the US. So definitely worth a trip if that’s the case!

Here’s what I am wearing.  It’s short and has a retro deel to it.  I wanted somethingwith a vaguely late 50s, early 60s feel.  Obviously a model.  I have been bees of all sizes and shapes in this dress and it looks good on everyone.  It’s about $700, so it’s in your budget.

BurlapnLace:  I am going to wear the Oleg Cassini.  I just posted a pic of it.  I took in in a size 8, but I have seen it on curvier brides and it looks great!
