I have a question about Plus 1’s. We are planning a wedding of no more than 70 people, and luckily most of our guests are couples. Our best man and Maid/Matron of Honor are single, so we thought for sure we’d give them each dates. There are 3 people in our wedding party (3 our of 14) who are single, and I was wondering if I should give them a date as well? I’d like to keep the guest list low, but was thinking if people aren’t able to make it maybe we’d give them a plus 1? The trouble is, 1 of the girls is a huge partier and she brings home random men all the time (I love her to death, but we def. have a day-time only friendship, if that makes sense? I don’t go out with her to bars)…I really don’t want to give her a date and have her bring some loser she met at a bar the night before.
Any thoughts on any of this? Any advice would be helpful!

@HeLovesDogs: We gave every one inour bridal prty a plus one. They’re so busy throughout the day that I can’t imagine them bringing a ‘random’ person.

Everyone in our bridal party got a plus one, just so it was fair to them all. We’re having about 70 people at our wedding, too.

I don’t think you have to give a date to the guests who are single and not in the wedding party, especially with such a small wedding.

They may not bring someone, but the invite is always appreciated.

We told our bridal party that they could have a plus one if they wanted. Mind you- of the four on each side, 2 are married/engaged to 2 on the other side. Plus 2 more in serious relationships. So it really only comes down to 2 of the Groomsmen without significant others. But they know they are welcome to bring someone, though it would be silly to bring a random person since they won’t spend much time with them anyway! And yes- I did phrase it that way when I told them they could have a plus 1!
