I felt the same way! I'm 5'2", normally a size 16 on account of my bazoombas. I was terrified of cupcaking but wedding dresses are specifically designed to make you look good. They should be, they cost a bazillion dollars. Anyway, they nip and tuck you in a very flattering way most of the time. Try on lots of silhouettes, you might be VERY surprised at what looks good on you. I ended up with a cupcake dress, the exact shape I was afraid of!

Thank you thank you thank you! I didn't see that board, so that's fantastic! Everyone looks so beautiful. It's given me a bit of a boost to see that I could potentially look good in something and has given me a few ideas :D

you can take a look at different body types in everyday clothing and see how different wedding dresses look on them. maybe you'll find a body type that is similar to yours.

Hi all!
So, I
m new to posting on Weddingbee, but Ive been reading a bunch of posts and am comfortable enough with how genuinely nice and helpful you ladies all seem to be, that I feel that I myself can post!I have a confession. I`m terrified of dress shopping. After all, this is a big deal right??! I'm supposed to look stunning and elegant on the big day, but I fear I'll end up looking more like a troll.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of dress would be flattering on a plus, petite? okay.. so I'm 5 foot 1, and am size 16 - but I have a behind that should have its own moons and my tummy isn't the trimmest either. Luckily I have a bit of an hourglass as my bust balances everything out. It's a lot for my little frame though!!
