I’d like to know about bridal shops that have larger sizes to try on, not just for wedding dresses but also for bm dresses. That info doesn’t really seem to be out there.

I like to see real weddings with plus-sized brides. I guess it just makes me feel like “Hey, big girls can have beautiful wedding days too!” It’s silly because I *know* this, but seeing it is helpful.

I also like knowing where to go for plus-size wedding dresses. I loved that David’s Bridal had MY SIZE in STOCK. 🙂

I went to your website and I love it! I do have one comment to make, however. I have a very hard time reading the light colored text against the pear green background. I have to highlight it to read it. Can you put dark text on your website? That’s just my two-cents. Otherwise-love it! I have already book marked it. Keep it coming!

Definately need to see plus size women in dresses where to find said dresses. Same with bridesmaids dresses.  Would love to see real weddings.

The fact that plus size brides are not represented in recommendations/pictures, blogs, photography sites has to be the hardest for me. Keep coming up against the assumption that brides must be under size 12… at least 99.99% of them.

All the various beauty, hair, makeup, clothing not made for my size is part of it too. Everything from strapless bra to seeing pictures of hairstyles for someone with a full face has been hard to find. The dress itself? Yeah, that too…although not as hard as some other things. Earrings – don’t forget earrings that flatter larger women.

@prettypearbride: I just wanted to say first off this is a GREAT idea!! I voted for real weddings. It’s hard to imagine myself on my wedding day, not just because of having a hard time picturing it all come together, but also due to only seeing thin girls in pics when I do look at “real wedding” pics. LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of your site! 😀

    stressedbride2be ditto!!

It’s hard for me to picture how the whole thing will come together and also I can’t picture myself as this amazingly stunning bride when all I can think of is skinny girls in wedding dresses and how I don’t look like that. But then every once in a wihle I’ll come across a plus size brides wedding pictures and it gives me hope that my wedding can be that beautiful too! I just wish I could see more of those weddings.

I love to see real weddings. All the weddings that are featured are of brides that are a size 6.  Most American women are over a size 12 so why aren’t we, the majority featured?

your site is such a great idea! i love it, one thing ive decided that if i ever get the money and resources i want to open a bridal shop just for plus-size brides and bridesmaids. there just arent enough options out there for anyone over a size 10, and i think its unfair. just because im not a size 4 doesnt mean i dont derserve to have a beautiful dress, and have a great time planning my wedding, instead of feeling miserable that they dont have any samples that fit. what really bothers me is when the consultant says “and dont forget we can always alter the dress if you plan on losing weight” thats insulting. i am happy with the way i look i dont need to lose any weight to look beautiful on my wedding day. so to all the plus-size brides out there like me, you are beautiful the way you are! <3
