My sister is one of my bridesmaids and she is a size 22. She did not get to try on the dress at the shop but I picked a style that was very flattering for her body type. The dress has a lot of ruching on the top and then has a long A-line skirt. The rouching makes you look slimmer. It looks gorgeous on her. I ordered my dresses from Amsale.
I have one bridesmaid that is a 14 and one that is a 16 and the other is around a size 8. We got our dresses at Nordstrom.com. They have a great plus sized section. Yeah if you order online you might have to return it but you can return it to the stores. We also went with same fabric/color and different styles. They will each wear a style that fits their body type but same color.
Lynn Lugo (www.lynnlugobridal.com)... they go up to size 28. they're custom-made but affordable. LOVE! good luck :)
Have you tried Alfred Angelo stores. Check their website, http://alfredangelo.com to see if a store is near you. If one is within driving distance (I had to drive 2 hours, but it was worth it), I say go for it. They also go up to size 28 and the store I went to had tons of plus size dresses to try on.
Be careful with ordering online. A place like Nordstroms will be great with returns, but places like http://www.plussizebridal.com don't do returns at all for bridesmaid dresses. They will for bridal gowns, with a restocking fee, but NOT bridesmaid dresses.
Good luck!

Hi all,
Me, my MOH and one bridesmaid all went to the bridal shop I got my dress from last night under the impression that they ALSO had a women's department in bridesmaids. Not so much. They had a few dresses but not that many that my MOH could try on.
I had a hard time dress shopping when I couldn't put the dresses on too. I don't think I'm the only one, right?
I hear all the time that people order online but ... well, really? If I did that, I'm 99% sure I'd have to return things. Is there something about this that I just do not get?
We're going to look in Mall stores now too I guess so that they can try some more dresses on... the issue is that my MOH is plus size, one bridesmaid is borderline but just looking at her she doesn't seem like it (she was fitting into a size 18 bridesmaid dress tho so she might be a 14/16 normally). And the last one is very thing! So we need a dress that will work for everyone. :/
It's important to me that my MOH and bridesmaids don't hate their dresses, can wear them again, etc. That most likely means no super-satiny bridesmaid looking stuff. Impressions can make all of their styles in either satin or georgette (a sheer matte material similar to organza) so that's a plus.
I'm just hoping to get some ideas from what others may have tried? :) Thanks!
