Alright Bees, my mother is 66years old, 5’3 240lbs, pant size 22. My mother also had a double mastectomy with a not so great reconstruction surgery a few years back, so shes very stressed about looking for a dress to fit her. Our wedding is Oct 5, 2014 so im not sure how cool it would be for a shawl or little jacket, if you could be so kind to show what your plus sized MOB or MOG wore to the wedding i could show my mom to boost her spirits for looking for a dress. Thanks a bunch!

I don’t have a pic on this computer, but my mom is an 18/20 and found several pretty dresses at Nordstrom. She looked great on my wedding day!

Here is the dress my mom wore for my wedding. (It’s shown on the model, not my mom). She looked stunning in it:

Tagging in. My mom is a plus size–so she defaults to pant suits…and I know she doesn’t feel pretty in them. I really want my mom to look and feel beautiful on my wedding day…and would love any suggestions you ladies have!

I’ve mostly been looking at Nordstrom for my mom who is plus size (but swears she isn’t). She always covers her arms, so cap sleeves at a bare minimum are required for her too.

I bought my gown from here: http://www.keepmeinstitches.biz
It was inexpensive, yet well made, and made me feel gorgeous. At the time I wore a 2X but had to order 5X for my tummy. (Their sizes run very small. And I made sure that I got measured at my local drycleaner/seamstress, and still checked with their customer service on what size to order. My daughter’s wedding was planned in 2 months, because my gown was in stock,I received my gown within 3 weeks.

tagging in, my FMIL is very short and rather large, no idea what size. Her dress clothes certainly leave something to be desired. I have no idea what she plans to wear to our wedding but I want to make sure she feels comfortable.

My mother is plus sized and she got hers at One Stop Plus.
This is the dress she wore for my April wedding: In Dusty Coral
She had a friend turn the wrap into butterfly sleeves because she is self concious of her arms. I think at the time she was a size 24 or 26. She’s about 5’6.
Here she is in her dress:

When I was plus sized (16W, 18W, 20W), I had good luck finding nice gowns for dressy occasions (some with Jackets) all appropriate for a MOB at David’s Bridal.
And the prices weren’t expensive… MOB Dresses elsewhere can be 2x or more.
Hope this helps,

@AndysCraftsNmore: Thank you. I have a great food plan I am on. That gown is now too big for me. If your mom might be interested, in the food plan, send me a PM with your email.
