Okay... so after seeing some very impressive pictures of plus sized girls in their wedding gowns, i started wondering to myself what they looked like in regular clothes.
Like... we know that these dresses are meant to accentuate the best parts of us and minimize the worst parts. So... which dresses help each different body type? So post pics of yourself in your dress and of you in normal clothes (that show your body shape) to help other girls know what types of dresses would be good on them if they are looking.
I'll start it off.

In the below picture, you can see that my problem area is my bottom half. specifically the backside, though you can see the not-so-flat frontside here. what my gown does is it flattens my tummy in the front, accentuates my shape into a practically perfect hourglass, and the big skirt hides my big butt.
@rosworms: I love this thread! I don't have a dress pic to share, but I am plus sized so I hope more bees post!!
Me in my wedding dress (sample):

And here's one of me with FI:

@basketballwifetobe, do you have a pic in your dress from the side or a pic of you straight on? Just for comparison?

As you can see, I have a whole lotta hips goin' on. I am a 16 on top, and an 18-20 on the bottom. My wedding dress was a full A-line.

@lovekiss...that blue dress is SMOKING...Where did you get it?
@okiediva: Thanks. It's Ralph Lauren, but I scooped it up (on clearance, no less!) at Marshalls this past spring. It was such a score. It's Mr. LK's favorite dress, and I feel so hot when I wear it. IMHO, every woman should own 1 dress that fits like a glove and makes her feel sassy. I told Mr. LK that he needs to plan something for my birthday that gives me an excuse to wear that dress again! LOL
In regular clothes...this was taken in May? I believe so. Anyways, since we have moved I have put on a few more pounds but I will probably be back to this by wedding day.

wedding dress before alterations. it's actually a little loose. i think the dress helps to suck everything in and define my waist.

It's not a good quality pic, but here's the sample
My dress goes a long way to making me look good!
@lovekiss:I am very much in awe of your blue dress and your wedding dress! As i know where your blue dress came from I was hoping you wouldnt mind sharing the designer of your wedding dress! Thanks!
@basketballwifetobe: I have to ask you what dress is that? It looks very similar to my dress (which I am yet to see in the flesh!) And it looks beautiful on you, and seeing as We are similar in size I'm getting excited that I will look just as beautiful as you do!

Wedding day:

My problem area is my hips. I have a 14" difference between my waist and hips.
@smcgirly01: Thanks for the complement. I am seriously grinning from ear to ear. :) My dress is named Camille, and she was made by Ian Stuart. Ian Stuart isn't a very popular designer here in the US, but he should be. His dresses are amazing. The fabrics and construction are out of this world, and his style is so distinct and classy.
Me (picture from our e-pics), I have a large lower tummy & hips + big arms & boobs (40E), I'm an 18 -22 in street clothes depending on brand.

@KatNYC2011: Girl, thats not a problem area, that's a figure! :)
