Hello hive! Let's see all the pictures of beautiful plus size brides in their dresses!
Here is my wedding dress! I (still) love it :) It is Jim Hjelm 8765 from the Fall 2007 collection.
I don't have any great pictures of me in it yet, but mine is by Aurora D'Paradisio who designs for plus size woman. The dress is my street size and fits fantastically!

I don't have my photographer's pics yet but here are some my friends took. Oh, and MrsK2B. You look gorgeous! That was one of the dresses I considered too, I love the detail under the bust.
Awww....thanks so much ladies! you gave me a much needed ego boost today!
MrsK2be you look beautiful...I love everything about it...the front, the back, your hair!! Thanks for the comments on mine too! Here is mine ladies! Allure W205...
bgsualum I love your hair! Cheers for short hair brides, I just cut mine yesterday and couldn't be happier. Everyone looks so pretty in their dresses. Here's mine on the stick model, no pics of me in it yet though.
Beautiful dresses!
Wow bgsualum, you look *amazing!* Beautiful smile, great shots! :)
Mori Lee has a new plus size line out, called "Julietta." Here are the gowns.
I especially like this one, which is a little more form fitting & fashion forward than the "typical" plus size offerings:
OMG Mrs. K... stunning!
I look like a hot mess in this pic, but in my defense it was a 105 degree texas day and I was in a giant dress so yeah. :)The pic I have of the back doesn't do it justice so I got a pic off the internet of the back of the dress.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of everyones dresses, especialy mrsK2be:) I love all the dresses and I to am a plus size bride thanks to thyroid cancer and such. But look we can still look hot, you all proved it. I only wish I had a dress that I could post.:( Congrats to all brides past and future:) You all look so pretty. It is fun to see pictures of brides:)
Love all of these dresses and beautiful brides! Thanks for the compliments, Mitla and nurseheather30. Much appreciated! That Mori Lee gown is phenomenal.
bqsualum your dress was absolutely stunning also!! My computer wouldn't let me see it before. Love it!!! SOOOO Jealous:)
bqsualum your dress is also very stunning!!!! SOOOOO Jealous:) Couldn't get pictures to show before on yours but they up now:)
Yes, I *love* that Mori Lee dress. I've wanted an asymmetrical/draping, body-skimming dress and I haven't seen it on a plus size person until now. It's almost exactly what I've had in mind! I love it.
I love this post! I thought before I even started looking that I would have a hard time finding beautiful plus-size dresses! But I found one. It came in yesterday! I didn't even try it on- it really was the only dress I looked at for months, that my eye kept going to it in the dressing room. It was a size 8, but gorgeous! :)
They special-ordered it for me to be an A-line instead of a fit and flare. It's Casablanca style 1936. I keep saying that the picture doesn't do it justice b/c every time I go back to see the sample, I'm just as excited as the first day I saw it.
I didn't even want to fuss about my dress, but am so glad I put some time, thought and mula into it.
gibbygirl21 that is a beautifull dress. I am sure it will look amazeing on you. I see you are getting married in pendleton, OR I love that area and went to the rodeo every year since I can remember till I moved. Miss it like crazy!!! My fiance would love to move out there.
I love the dresses! Here is a picture of mine. Casablanca 1900. We were married in May at a friends vacation home in East Texas.
theplussizebride your dress is soooo elegant and I soooooo love the boots with it, I am definetly wearing cowgirl boots no matter what dress I wear:) It looks like the place y'all was married was gorgeous. Me and my fiance are getting married at alittle western town b&b in september so it will be country:) Love that dress. You looked stunning your husband is a lucky man:)
My dress was Maggie Sottero's J192. I think it's discontinued now, but many of the Maggie dresses were flattering on me!

I to am in love with maggie dresses, but can't afford one. my dream dress is her "brielle" Kind of a southern belle look:) Balletflat you looked amazing. I loved your hair and makeup:) Oh and that was very nice of your photographer to watch for catterpillars:)
I to love maggie dresses. They are my favorite, but way out of my price range. My favorite is her "brielle" sothern belle looking:) You looked gorgeous balletflats and loved your dress. It was very nice of your photographer to watch out for those caterpillars to:)
Mitla, that Mori Lee is YOUR dress?? I am so JEALOUS. It's gorgeous. Do you have pics of you in it? Gibbysgirl21, does your dress have pink detailing? So, so pretty.
Can I tell you how much I LOVE this thread. As a plus-sized girl in a most thin-obsessed part of the world (thank you, Hollywood), I felt like a lone ranger when planning my wedding. I was literally laughed out of a certain bridal shop in Beverly Hills. No fun.
I had heels on but I literally kicked them off half way through the ceremony....much to everyone's amusement. I put the boots on for the rest of the evening and they were perfect. Not to mention VERY COMFY!
A friend and musician that my husband plays with married us so we had a very nontraditional wedding. Our vows were Abracadabra and Fried Green Tomatoes!
theplussizebride, your dress looks so soft and elegant -- it's beautiful. You look amazing -- and so happy!
I too was happy to find this thread:) There are some very beautifull, figure flattering dresses out there:) Oh and balletflats I love your dress to, and it was very nice of your photographer to help with the caterpillars:)
Bqsualum that stinks about that bridal shop but hey you know you are beautifull:) It is still hard I know. With all my health issues and such me and my fiance cannot afford a dress, but some nice people have offered to give me one of theirs or let me borrow one, but unfortunetly they have all been a lot thinner than me:) But hey it isn't the dress that makes the day special right:) And I know my fiance loves me for me and not what I look like:)
Oops! No, the Mori Lee dress isn't mine... well maybe.
I am on my way to having my dress custom made, because I want something like that Mori Lee but couldn't find it.
And then, the Mori Lee came out! I only just saw it this week in Bride's magazine and on the Mori Lee website. I called around and no one even has it yet (and a few shops weren't even aware of this new plus size line!).
So, if it comes out soon enough for me to try on before the wedding, and it looks nice, maybe I won't have to get my dress made after all!
@plussizebride: I *love* Casablanca 1900. It's one of my favorite dresses, and you wear it beautifully!
@bqsqualum, I completely feel your pain about being laughed out of the bridal shops. I called a few ahead of time, and I just keep encountering sympathetic but clueless bridal shop employees that wish they could help me. I wear a large size and "squeezing" into a small dress to try on is humiliating and uncomfortable.
Just seeing some dresses on body types closer to mine makes SUCH a huge difference. My FH is constantly amazed at the outright discrimination of the fashion industry. It's very cute to see him get upset on my behalf. ;)
I agree, I love seeing these dresses and different styles on girls closer to my size. Even the "plus sized" models they use for the larger sizes aren't plus sized. So it is wonderfull to see realy women in their dresses, keep them coming:)
Thanks! I love my hometown of Pendleton, Oregon AND the Round-Up... My fiance moved here with me a few years ago.
Broke his ankle 3 weeks ago bull riding... right before the wedding- go figure!
Oh-- and an update to my dress. Due to my crazy work schedule, I could not schedule an appointment to start my fitting. My MOH and I decided to go look at it at least even if I couldn't schedule my fitting right away. They ended up having a cancellation and fitted me on the spot.
It fit almost perfectly! Yay-
It just needs to be taken in the bust a little- no hem, nothing else. What a nice way to feel comfortable as a plus size girl and to have your dress fit the first time and make you feel beautiful. :)
