I'm looking for pictures to show our photographer for the engagement shoot...I'm sure she knows what she's doing, but are there any plus sized bees that have great poses/angles/ideas that make them/me not look so plus sized??? I've been seriously buckling down on the whole issue, but I don't want to not love my Engagement pics looking back on them, ya know? I wanna look my best...any help is very appreciated! Thx!
Just be comfortable! I think that's the most slimming thing! I didn't try anything in particular...I think if you overthink it, you'll be disappointed and look uncomfortable!

Emrbace the curve! This was one of my favorites of me and it's all out there :)

I've been wondering about this too. I am recently engaged and was considering skipping engagement photos altogether because I'm plus-sized, and I didn't think I'd be happy/comfortable with any pictures of me that aren't like the waist - up. Ya know? I just don't wanna look like a cow. Haha.
@CarolinaCola: Well thank you :) There were one's though that made me cringe. I just never did anything with those ones lol.
Plus if you tell your photog your concerned they might change position and become super aware. I told her that I didn't want to take one's sitting because I know what my body looks like when it's all scrunched together it's not appealing. So in this one she actually got down lower to block the roll :)

and in this one my tummy is obviously out of the way

@mwitter80: Aww. I really love those pictures too! Those are two really great poses/angles for us fluffy ladies. But I feel like I would still look huge if I were in that laying down pose. I think I'm quite a bit larger than you.
@CarolinaCola: You're going to look amazing. Don't skip it. Own who you are lady!
This is exactly how I feel...&
Mwitter & milksmom Don't even count as plus sized...You guys look incredible and way thinner then me...& glowing...I want that... =(...me and that treadmill are gonna become very good friends...lol!
@mwitter80: Aw, thanks for the encouragement. My FI's sister does photography, so I think we'll talk to her about perhaps doing our e-pics over Thanksgiving.
ETA: Gah, I'm not good at articulation today. What I mean is, talk to her about it on Thanksgiving, not actually doing the pictures over Thanksgiving. I just re-read it and realized it sounded incorrect to me. Haha.
@Dolldancer8: Haha! I know right. Sometimes even on plus sized boards I feel like I'm EXTRA plus sized! You are not alone!!
@CarolinaCola: Haha...extra plus sized...its insane how many women are incredibly beautiful and healthy, but think they're full figured...I wish I was one of em! lol!
mwitter: I love that your photographer hid the roll....thats exactly what I need...and you're skinny...
this is why my beeddiction is growing so much...everyone is so helpful!!! TY!!!
@Dolldancer8: I am a size 16 and weigh over 200lbs. I know there are lots of people who are larger than me but I def qualify as plus! I at one point weight over 300lbs and got down to a size 8. It was torture lol. I like my body pretty much at this point.
Although now I'm pregnant so my tummy is starting to get bigger but for good reason :)
@CarolinaCola: I just don't think you should miss out on something because you're plus sized. I hate that. Love yourself!
Some things I learned from my [very disappointing] engagement photo experience:
@KristenGotMarried: Those are some awesome tips! I've always wished I could do a walking away pic, but that would not be attractive for my big ass. Haha.
Ladies, embrace who you are. You FI's love the people that you are not some made up idea of the perfect woman that we have in our minds. I am not happy with my body but I love who I am as a person and so does my fiance. Give yourselves a break and enjoy your e-photos, you diserve it :)
@mwitter80: You two are way too cute for words :)
@mwitter80: Amazing! You are so pretty! I love that you are obviously enjoying your photo shoot :)
@MilksMom: You look so happy together, great photos!
I don't have anything super constructive to add right now but when I get my pictures back hopefully sometime in the next week, I will add to this thread.. that is, if I have any good, slim angles.
@mwitter80: You are freaking gorgeous. I hope I look half that good in my photos.
I'm on the edge of plus sized but I figure I'll offer what I learned. Sit up straight, let yourself be comfortable and don't think about anything but having a great time with your FI.
Here are some of my faves:

I have the last one on my desk at work and get a ton of compliments on it. :)
Edit: I realized the small version of one of the pics looks like my FI is missing a tooth! He really has them all, see?!

I'm a size 22 but thanks to my dress/amazing photographers I was totally stoked with our e-pics!
@MilksMom: did you take your pics at ECU? I'm an alumna and would recognize that campus anywhere..
I learned do NOT wear a dress that only looks good when you stand perfectly straight and don't move. I loved my dress when I adjusted it perfectly in the mirror, but walking around it slid up (because of my spanx) and made me look pregnant in some shots. And when I pulled it down sometimes, I got WAY too much cleavage. If I could do it again, I'd either get a different outfit, or have FI take some practice pics of me so I'd know what the outfit would really look like.
This one is my favorite from the day:

Here are some others I liked:

@PinkLimeNZ: OMGOSH! I love your dress! It looks so great on you, and you are beautiful!!
@Future MrsB: I love that last picture. It is so sweet!!
These are picture from our first year together. But I am having engagement pictures done tomorrow. hope this helps!
@hannahmarie: You guys are so cute together!! And how you get so tan, girl?? Haha.
I have to disagree with some of the tips above, because our walking away shot and ones with my hands on my hips look hawt! The pose I really hated was the profile shot. None of our profile photos looked very attractive. And be wise in choosing your outfits because it makes a huge difference. The empire waist short dress that I chose wound up making me look huge, while the more body skimming outfit choices rocked. And it was worth the money to have my make-up professionally done. It was a confidence boost that really made me feel great, which translated into the photos. Here are some of our favorite poses.

@lovekiss: You look smokin' in that second shot! Love the dress! I have a similar one, but it has short sleeves.
@hannahmarie: Ah, okay. That makes sense now.
I'm glad you are thinking about this.. b/c I didn't and my first photographer positioned me SO badly.. that I found an entirely new photographer.. My engagement pictures were awful..and he took every bad angle of me that he could. I'm a plus size bride.. like in the higher digits.. and he would take pics of me from behind while I'm sitting down.. and then he edits the crap out of them to make you look smaller..
I'll def. keep note of this for when we take engagmenet photos again.
I just want to say I am shocked that all the girls in the photos consider themselves plus sized. I am a small person but I would never call any of you plus sized....not what I was expecting when I saw the pictures. You guys look great!
