Is anyone else doing this at their wedding? Or have you been to a wedding where this was done? Is this a good idea or not? I don’t know the details, but if we were to do this idea, we would have one poker table and at least two blackjack tables. We would actually hire the dealers. Do you think this would be a hit, or a miss? I guess it mostly depends on the guest as well, but I think some people would be interested, especially the guys! Should we budget for this or not? Hmmm. I need advice! Fellow Bee Maple brought up playing for money. Should the guests play with real money or not?

I think it sounds fun!
But, I would do it all with chips – no money, just fun. As soon as money + weddings get involved, "tacky" will come up

Are you also having dancing? We are, and I want people to get out on the dance floor, so I would worry that the card tables would keep the reluctants off the floor. Some of our friends (espeically guys) try to get out of dancing, but once they’re convinced, they’re hilarious fun. I could easily see them plunking down themselves down at a card table and not dancing!
Otherwise, it sounds like a fun idea, but I also agree, no money should be involved. You would be considered the "house" right? So it would look weird if you got the winnings…
