I was just watching a piece on the news about pole dancing fitness classes. They had a 50+ instructor with an awesome body, and even an adventerous 60+ year old student! I think it looks like a TON of fun, the little gymnast in me is wanting to try it so bad!
Has anyone ever taken a pole fitness class? Or been to one as a bach party? OOooor, even braver, have one in your house?! (I’m afraid it’d topple over and I’d be laying there with broken bones or a concussion, lol.)
Please share your experiences with the curious 🙂

My bridesmaid, Ashley, had a pole dancing class party for her bachelorette party and it was a blast! We had so much fun. We were terrible, but learned some great tricks. haha. I definitely had some awful bruises all over from the pole! I think it would be an incredible workout if you did it on a regular basis. I would kill to have our instructors arm muscles!

I so wanted to do this with my best friend for her bachelorette! She wanted to also, but a few of her bridesmaids were very conservative and she didn’t want to offend them.
I would love to hear more stories, though! I have a few other recently engaged friends who might end up going for it. Heck, I’d go by myself!

We are doing this for mine! (atleast thats what my bridesmaids tell me we still have a while until we have the party!)
I cant wait to do it!

My Future Mother-In-Law is a personal trainer and used to have a pole in her living room because it’s such good exercise. I don’t think she has it anymore because she no longer competes in bodybuilding (form) competitions, but I think she really liked it when she had it!

@MrsSnowPoke: Haha, note to self, don’t do this too close to the wedding! I bruise easily and they last long, so THAT would be fun to explain. LOL. Glad you guys enjoyed it! Arms are my biggest annoyance, but it looks like a total body thing, too!
@piglet_625: I’m thinking I may go alone. I am rather conservative, but I LOVE dancing, and fitness, and I’m not afraid to get wild, I don’t just put it out there. Some of my friends are reserved gals, though, so this may be a solo present to myself 🙂 $40 for an entire hour private session isn’t bad, and once I move there, it equals out to about $10 an hour if you sign up for their regular classes!
@MsPanda: You’ll have to stop back to give me your reviews! I hope you all have a blast!
@Lemma: In the living room!? I wonder if your Fiance was nervous to introduce mom to girls, not the other way around! LOL. She sounds like a pretty boss lady, though!

@indibee: were you a gymnast? I still do gymnastics, so I have often wanted to try pole fitness!

My best friend is a pole fitness instructor! I’ve gone to a couple of her classes and it is SO fun. I would seriously recommend it to anyone.

We did this for my sister’s bachelorette party a few years ago and I liked it so much that I joined the studio and took some classes on my own! It is one hell of a workout, I’ll tell you that. And it’s really fun when you’re surrounded by all your friends…even some of the more conservative ones got into it.

@soyjoy222: My town was over an hour from the closest gymnastics, so I did cheer instead, but I was the bendy, flippy, flying one 🙂 I was watching a lot of the local studio’s demos and I was like ‘I can do that!’ You still do gymnastics?! How fun! Is it your job or a hobby or interest? That’s so fun.
@zippylef: I’ll have to tell Mr.ND that my friends said ti was great and recommended it to me ;0) Hahah. Glad to hear it was a blast. Is your friend all toned like the ladies I’ve seen up here?! The instructors had some wicked bodies, so jealous.
@misspeanut: Always got to watch out for the quiet ones 😉 LOL. Now I’ve just got to drag the girls along!
I totally want to see what my tax return comes through as…I think a little of that fun money is going to trying out a pole class or two!

@indibee: I still do it! There is a gym with classes for adults nearby. I can’t get over how much I love jumping and flipping, haha!
