I am debating about what I should get my bridesmaids as gifts. I have so far bought them a necklace and earrings for the wedding day, giving them a hand written thank you note. But I would like to get them something else.
I have a certain budget in mind and wasnt sure if I should get them an assortment of small gifts or one gift that is more expenisve?
I was debating between a personalized tote bag with personalized stationary, a shawl since it will be November, and an assortment goodies.(Picture frames, robe, sandals etc)
Or getting them a designer wristlist or small purse. Many of them love designer bags but wont spend the money on themselves so I thought they may enjoy it. (But if it go this route it is less gifts.)
What would you prefer to get?

@candy08: I got my girls earrings, necklace, a hair clip and a clutch. They walked down with the clutch instead of flowers and it was awesome! The lace hair pieces I had specially made for them to match each of their colors. Im sure they will love anything you give them because its coming from your heart! 🙂

@Miss2Mrs_Beerlover: Thanks! Oh I love the clutch idea and the specially made hair pieces. Sounds so pretty!

@candy08: I personally would prefer a designer clutch, because I am in the same boat in saying that I like them but would never buy one for myself.
At the same time, your “assorted gifts” idea also sounds lovely. I think both are winning scenarios.

I’m going to end up doing an assortment of smaller gifts, mainly because many of my coworkers have been bridesmaids recently and a few were commenting (ok, slightly complaining) about gifts they have gotten that they won’t use/aren’t their style/were clearly something only the bride would’ve liked. So to be safe rather than spend money on a nice gift that not all of my maids might enjoy and use, I’ll probably do an assortment- this way there’s at least something they will keep for more than just sentimental reasons.
But if you know your ladies would appreciate the nice clutch and use them, then go for it! My BMs have very different tastes, especially when it comes to fashion.

I’m getting them a blingy braclet and a blingy hair accessory. xoxo

I really like the assorted small gifts idea. Its very cute – I never even thought of personalized stationary.

@candy08: I would rather get a gift that had some though behind it and was something I personally would like and use and not something that you give to everyone else.
The best way to treat BM gifts is to shop like it is their individual birthday. I mean the gift is meant to be for them.

I got our BMs earrings and a bracelet, to be worn on the wedding day. I know some Bees will say that this technically isn’t a “gift” since it’s part of the wedding package, but I personally disagree. Since I also paid for their dresses and will be paying part of the cost of their hair and make-up, I honestly didn’t feel like I needed to spend a lot more money on gifts as well. I wanted them to have something pretty to wear for the wedding (and matching, since their dresses don’t match) that they could potentially wear again to another event, and frankly, something within the budget.
As a BM (3x) I have received jewellery each time. The first two times were items to be worn at the wedding (which I was fine with) and the third time was birthstone jewellry, which was beautiful but very fancy/fussy and I’m sad to say I’ve actually never worn.

my sister got us all clutches and jewelry. both of mine ended up being personalized. I LOVE them both- best gifts ever. the clutch is simple black leather with my monogram in gold. I don’t even like monograms, but I ROCK this clutch out- it is soooo cute. the jewelry was not to wear for the wedding day (she got us all different pieces she thought we’d like)- I couldn’t help it- loved mine so much I had to wear it the day of & most days after. (I hope she reads this)
Usually when other ppl pick out stationery or totes for me (especially personalized ones)- I don’t use them. I make/write cards, but don’t use stationery or have very specific tastes and I don’t like canvas/casual totes. nice wristlet/clutch is the way to go or nice jewelry that works well for everyone (gold or silver bracelet).

The small gifts you’ve listed are too your wedding for my tastes.
Take your wedding out of it. What would you get them for a birthday or other holiday?
What are their individual tastes. the best gifts are selected with the giver in mind.

Gosh, both of your ideas sound so nice!! I think either option would be a good option!!
I did the “gift bag goodie extravaganza” for my girls. I got them a tote bag/beach bag, beach towel, scarf, heart-shaped sunglasses, large makeup bag/pouch, and a gift card to their favorite store. My MOH got a bit more, an extra beach blanket and a small gag gift that I knew would crack her up. The girls actually used the scarves during the wedding weekend/week, and they were wearing the sunnies all the time. Hysterical! I’ve seen them using the tote bags and the makeup pouches since then, so I know they are actually using their gifts, which makes me feel really good about what I got them. Oh and I got them rhinestone tiaras early on for our bridal party outings.
I’m not counting the other things I bought for them for the wedding, like the bridesmaid dresses or the jewelry I got them. That was separate.
