Hahaha...I think they're kind of funny. Of course this is from the person who had a caricature save the date. If you're going for elegant, keep looking, but if you're going for fun and to make people smile, I think you got it.
I think its cute, but I wouldn't do it! I think the pose stuff is so cute on the blog today.
ugh, i hate that word -- "tacky." it's a bride's worst nightmare, yet everyone seems to have a different definition of what is and isn't.
that being said, i think it's super cute.
Cute - I think if you're Indian its cool (otherwise it might come off very weird). Esp since its a destination wedding.
I think that whatever you like is the right thing for you. The tone is cute rather than formal, but your STDs don't have to be serious! That said, I would see if you can order a sample. We loved STD magnets from several companies, and ordered samples from all, and were not happy with the quality of any of them. We eventually did not go with magnets partly because of this.
Question suzanno:
How do you get the sample??
Do you need to sign up for 50 magnets and give credit card info and then get a sample to approve or disapprove? Then if you don't like it, you don't get charged? I don't see a free sample link or anything.
we used fresh impressions and i just called them directly. the samples were free and were mailed quickly. i think most companies will do this if you just call them and ask.
I agree - if you are silly people, then the STD is perfect! This is something that would fit my personality FOR SURE, but not my Fiance's who is really serious. I think they are so cute :)
I think it depends on what you want to convey. If you're imagining a fun, more casual, silly feel for your wedding, I think it's perfect. But if you want to evoke something more formal and traditional, I would go with the one onion posted.
I like the one onion found (above) waaaay better. depends on the tone of your wedding though. elegant, it isn't. but its fun for sure!
Thanks for all your help- I think we are going to go with 1/2 funny (for friends etc) and 1/2 classy (the one above) for my parents friends.
Good call - we sent everyone the same STDs but are going with two different styles of thank you cards (one for friends, one for relatives and parents' friends). Once I realized there was no reason not to do that, I got much happier with my choices.
