I went shopping today and found some really cute shoes at Marshalls (in the shoe section and not slippers), or so I thought. I’m a teacher and thought they would be comfy for work. As I looked at the shoes longer, after I bought them, I realized that they could be slippers so I went home and looked them up, and yes, they are slippers!
Just wanted to know if you, after looking at them, would still wear them as shoes to work (I work in an elementary school) or would you not? I was thinking with so many shoes looking like slippers these days (with the faux fur) that I could have them pass for shoes b/c they are so comfy and I am on my feet all day. I do have a lot of shoes but thought they were cute for the cold weather.
Thanks in advance.

Ok…so far all responses are saying they do. Maybe it’s just me not having any fashion sense and thinking they could pass b/c of the rubber bottoms. ha ha Thanks for the responses so far!

I think you could wear them as shoes, but I would be worried about the bottoms getting really gross because it looks like it’s just felt. However, if you don’t care about that, think about it: you work with kids all day. Are they really going to judge you? 🙂
I’m a teacher, too, so I always tell myself that whenever I’m unsure about an outfit- LOL.

I feel like I’d have to see them with pants to see if they could pass for shoes. On their own, though, they look like slippers. Which are probably still great for wearing around the house. 🙂

Thanks so much. 🙂
It’s hard to tell in the picture but the bottoms are really thick rubber. That’s why I had a hard time with determining if they were slippers at first, especially since the description on the box didn’t say…it just said Felt Mary Janes.

My school doesn’t allow us to wear blue jeans but we can wear black jeans (which is why I own 10+ pairs). I tried them on and you can just see the bottoms but I don’t look to look like an idiot wearing shoes that look completely like slippers.

@Mrs.Lotus: Whatever. I say wear ’em. 🙂 lol

Yup, they look like slippers to me and I wouldn’t wear them, they just aren’t my taste, but they look SUPER comfy. =]

I think they could look cute with the right sweater – something cozy but fitted – maybe a red sweater? I think your students would think they are awesome!

Maybe I’d just keep them in my drawer or under my desk for prep period and grading/exam days. I think they’re pretty slipper-ish, but if they’re that cozy, I’d keep them for those down times where you’re not infront of the class.

I think they do look like slippers. But they look REALLY comfy! Personally I would just wear them around the house.
