I’m looking to have a stand-in ring made. I wanted to have something that is totally different than my ering, which is a sapphire halo ring in white gold.I’m on a budget, so I need to keep it under $800 CAD. I came across MichaelShaeDiamonds on etsy. They seem to have good reviews, but I’m still curious about what the Siberian Ice Lab created diamonds are actually like. Does anyone have any experience with this company?
The ring I’ve fallen in love with is the scupltural oval halo. I usually wear white metals, but because I’m interested in doing something totally different, I’m almost leaning towards yellow gold. What metal do you bees prefer?

Grafton86: Love the yellow gold! Very pretty detail!

Seems like white gold is winning so far in the poll, anyone else have any opinions?

Grafton86: I am a big fan of white metals. In general, it’s what I like best. But I voted for yellow gold in your poll. One reason is that I think that ring is absolutely stunning in yellow gold. I feel like the details in the bezel (?) and band stand out much more in yellow gold. The second reason I voted for yellow gold is that you mentioned your actual set is white gold, and that you wanted something totally different. Even if this is really different in design, it might still feel kind of “the same” if you get it in a white metal. (hope that makes sense …)
Either way, though, it’s a beautiful ring!

Moissanite Company offers this setting with a Moissianite stone. There is a bee who has this setting in white gold with a yellow canary moissanite and it is stunning. I can’t remember her screen name. Maybe she will see this and post. Yellow gold looks so vintage and buttery. Love it!

I usually hate the look of yellow gold, but the yellow gold in that ring is gorgeous!

white, but i generally hate the look of white/clear stones with yellow gold and prefer the cleaner look of white gold with those stones.

Grafton86: i think when it comes to a vote, white will always win…because it’s the trending norm today…but I think the yellow is unique.

also…I think you should pick the metal that goes best with your skin tone. Not eveyone that wears white gold should, and not everyone that wears yellow should. Personally white gold looks fake on my skin…yellow melts into my skin and compliments it, rose gold looks good on me as well. If white looks better on you, then go with that.

I think since your other ring is white, you should totally rock the yellow with this one.

I’m usually a white-metal fan, but this is beautiful in different ways for both colors. The white looks more modern, the yellow almost looks like an heirloom someone might get from a very stylish grandmother. Very elegant in a different way than the white.

I voted for yellow gold. I’d always go with a yellow or rose gold when it comes to detailed setting. It just looks so beautiful! Also, white gold will always win when it comes to polls. It’s the populad color these days, but yellow and rose is coming back. Here in Japan where I live, a lot of young people wear rose gold jewelries compared to white gold.
