So I’m watching Say Yes to the Dress (of course — it is Friday, right?) and everyone keeps talking about feeling like a princess. I just truly don’t understand this desire. I have never once in my planning wanted to feel like a princess. To me, feeling like a princess feels juvenile. I want to look like a woman making the biggest and happiest decision of her life — and looking beautiful, confident, and slightly sexy doing so.
This is NOT to offend any of you who DO want to look/feel like a princess. NOT AT ALL. It is just not my goal and so I’m wondering if I’m in the minority or majority in my feelings.
Do you want to feel/look like a princess?

Yes, I do. I always pictured myself in a big, poofy ballgown. It’s really so surprise, and when I had printed pictures and showed my mom what I was interested in, she picked out the poofiest one and said, “that’s your dress!”.
It’s one of the only times in my life that I will get to feel like a princess/queen.
ETA – I think it’s weird that alot of people keep associating bling with the princess look. My dress is lace and tulle, with very intricate beading & pearls. There is NO bling at all! Sure, some brides might like bling, but I’m not having any at all.

I looked at price alone. Yes, I wanted to feel nice but more important to me (no judgement to others) but the actual marriage was something I looking forward to and the wedding planning was all secondary and not that important.

Not me. I want to look awesome but in a sexy way! Classy sexy, not slutty sexy.

I want to feel yet not look like a princess 🙂

No, not really. I don’t want anything to be overly flashy like that since it’s not my style.

I am wearing a huge poofy ballgown but I can’t actually say I picked it because I wanted to feel like a princess. I just wanted to feel like a bad-ass in a ballgown.

I want to look like Me 2.0 crossed with black wedding day Barbie.

Negative. I don’t want any poofiness or bling at my wedding. No tiarra, either.
I def have more of a vintage, calssic look with a bit of sexiness in a tasteful way.

not a princess at all. I dont wear dresses, wedding dress shopping will be a challenge for me.

I want to look like a princess and basically just a prettier and more glamourous version of myself (:

No. I am 40 years old. My princess days are way past. I would like to look like a classy beautiful confident woman. Not a girl and when I think princess, I think girl. I hold no judgement for those who desire looking like a princess, maybe 15 years I would have wanted to but now it just is not me.

No, I did not. I feel like I’m too old for that.

I want to look more like a queen than a princess!

Its not the look I set out to get, but I ended up with a ball gown anyways. It just made me feel so pretty.
