I’m seriously having a hard time picking ONE. I plan to replicate one of these for my 2014 summer wedding. Please help me choose?
1. Mori Lee 1963
2. Maggie Sottero Maurie
3. Allure Couture C283
4. Pronovias Yalina
5. Pronovias Levan
6. Pronovias Lagara
7. Enzoani Hanako
8. Sophia Tolli – Margaery
9. Sophia Tolli Roslin
10. Steven Khalil

I really love the Pronivias Lagara, the back is to die for and the patterns are really interesting.
Also love Sophia Tulli Margery but I think you’d need curves to pull it off. I really like the slighly darker colour that shows off the lace overlay – beautiful!
The Mori Lee and Allure, though beautiful, aren’t anything earth-shattering in terms of setting trends and look a lot like what we’ve seen over the past few years – maybe even veering towards dated. The Maggie though, the way the pattern is arranged – that looks more fashion-forward to me, or it may just be my own preferene LOL.

@jawaiian86: My favorite 2014 mermaid dress will always be the Allure Couture C283, but I’m totally biased since that’s my dress. However, I don’t know much about replica dresses, and I’m afraid that the overall quality and appearance of the dress, esp with all that beading, will be the same when replicated.
I’m also really liking the first Sophia Tolli dress. Those two will be my top picks. Good luck and I hope you end up getting the dress of your dreams! Keep us updated!

Steven Khalil blows the others out of the water. However, so do his prices. I have seen the quality of his work first hand though and it is beautiful.

@jawaiian86: I personally liked the Roslin the best. 🙂

@clairebbbear: I agree on how the Maggie one being unique, as well as Lagara having a different lace pattern on the back and bodice 🙂 originally I wanted plain lace appliqué dress but seeing some gorgeous crystal beadied lace gave me more choices and confusions :p
Thank you so much for the 2 cents, they really help me out!

@bridetobee16: hey, I was actually looking at your pictures before I decided to make the Allure one of the contenders 🙂 you look so I pretty in it! I totally agree about making replicas out of these beauties, as I understand crystal lace appliqués are harder to recreate compared to plain laces. I really need to pick the right seller and to be perfectly honest, I’m the most nervous about that one. It’s a make or brake deal in my process, I think. I wish I wasn’t so tight on the budget, but I’ve decided to rather spend my $$ for honeymoon, and the fact that my wedding is a destination wedding already costs us a fortune….so yeah, I think getting a replica dress is the route that I’m gonna take.
ahhh the Margaery, my fiancé wants some sleeves on me and it hasn’t been easy finding the dress to fit both my categories and his too. Sophia Tolli’s one is very romantic, has illusion chiffon straps that look nicer than regular spaghetti straps…so I really like that one a lot too 🙂
Thank you so much for helping out, by the way. All the best luck on your wedding as well, but we all know you’ll look stunning.

@Cyri: oh my god seriously, Steven Khalil’s creations make me want to cry……in a good way lol but then I look at his prices, and they make me cry again….lol Thank you for letting me know that they are indeed beautiful in real life, many of the brides with his dresses do look so expensive and the materials are always luxurious and flattering. Wish they weren’t so $$$ tho, but I guess that’s always the case with couture bridals.
@springbride23: thank you! I’ve seen it on one of the bee here (can’t remember who) and she looked HOT. The dress doesn’t look as good on the model (I looked pass it the 1st time) but on some real brides it really look flattering.

@jawaiian86: You’re so sweet! Thanks again! I do understand your situation and that replica dresses are the best option for those brides who have a tight budget, and it is such a great idea that you would rather spend the money on your honeymoon! Both you and your future hubby can really enjoy it! And how exciting! Destination weddings are so much fun!
You’re very welcome, and I truly hope everything turns out amazing as far as your dress and your wedding. 🙂
