to be perfectly hones,t I wouldn't even hazard a guess until you deadline date at least. I know you want to think ahead and try to plan, but I would just sit it out and wait to guestimate until the 15th! You really never know
We fluctuated so much until about a week after the deadline date. I had to make some phone calls, but not many.
Bc our wedding was long distance for DH's side, we had about 65% RSVP yes, but that is on the low end!
I have to agree with lattelove. After our STDs went out, everyone pretty much was certain they were attending. I mean, like 90 percent of them. And this was also the case a few weeks before our invites were sent. We got a huge rush right after they were sent, and most of them were yes replies, with a few no's. And then a lot more no's than we thought started to occasaionally trickle in, along with probably an equal number of yes replies. Come deadline day, we had to track down 40 percent of our guest list, and we were surprised because we only invited like 90 people total, and very few people we didn't know well, so we thought we'd only have to track down about 20 percent.
Toward the end, I'd say everything was pretty much equal. For every few yes replies, we'd get a no. It pretty much matched up with what we had gotten. But the surprise was how many people, who were certain they were coming, couldn't at the last minute for medical reasons and family emergencies - and these people had already booked their hotels and everything. So yeah, you really can't even try to predict it.
I had to chase down like 75 RSVP's after the deadline...30 of which were my husband's out of state relatives...who never really gave a straight answer, but who we knew would not be able to make the trip. It was realllllly frustrating.
Oh goodness.... We got a few RSVP's after the wedding. Seriously.
We spent the entire 3 weeks before our wedding hounding our closest friends and family for the RSVP's. Though all but 4 of them were 'Yes', we were still unsure of the final headcount because others wanted to bring their kids, nieces, best friends... whatever's. LOL
Once your deadline hits, stay on 'em! :D
Good luck and congrats!
I haven't had this experience yet, but what I've heard is that "yes" RSVPs usually come in right away, whereas "no" RSVPs come in right at the deadline, or after.
We got a lot of yes's soon after we mailed them out (and some no's from people that knew way before they couldnt make it) Most of the no's came midway through and alot toward the end (we even got one after the wedding passed!)

For all the married bees, how did your RSVPs come back in? Were people RSVPing "no" more likely to wait until closer to the deadline - or were they more likely to RSVP quickly? Did you get most of your "yes" RSVPs soon after you mailed the invites? Inquiring minds want to know.
(I have 1 "no," 30 "yes" and 35 I haven't heard from...deadline is Nov. 15th.)
