I voted smashed but I wasn’t actually smashed, but not tipsy either. I would say pleasantly drunk but completely functional by the end of the night, and tipsy for most of it? DH was drink by the end of the night too but not wasted. I will say that a lot of guests were a looooot drunker than we were! It was a blast!

We both drank a pretty good amount but never got drunk. We said it was a different kind of excited high really (which several of our guests also said). I drove us to the hotel and was completely fine, DH was decently drunk, much less than I would have expected for us finishing a fifth of Jack on the bus and he had probably 10 beers at the reception, I had probably 4 glasses of wine and 3 amaretto sours over about 5 hours.

Stayed buzzed but not wasted through the whole evening until it was just a few people left around the fire, and then we all got pretty wasted. No regrets! But I definitely made a conscious effort not to have too much to drink during the actual reception.

I deliberately only had one drink all day. I was buzzed from it being my wedding anyway! I normally love drinking but I wanted to take it all in, not let time fly by, and not be red-faced for my photos. No regrets!!

I was tipsy and hubby was relatively drunk. We were holding a morning-after brunch at our house the next morning so we really needed to be conscious. Of course many were drunk and it was a great time.

Lauren267:  I had a tiny glass of champagne with my girls before the ceremony, half a vodka cranberry during the reception, and nearing the end of the night a half-shot of chambord again with my girls (who were completely trashed, not in a bad way, they just had a great time).  So I didn’t feel any affect from it, but usually for me how drunk I get is inversely proportional to how fun the event is, I didn’t set out to drink so little by design but I was having an awesome time and didn’t want to step away to the bar.  Plus as soon as you’re conscious of the fact that you’re the center of attention in a room full of people the desire to get messy drunk goes waayyy down 🙂

I had a few drinks not tipsy. I felt I couldn’t finish a drink all night.(I couldnt eat anythinf either.) There were so many people to talk to and I was just enjoying the time with my husband.

Although we had a bar, neither my husband nor I had a drink. We used ginger beer (which we had for one of our signature drinks) in our flutes for toasting. It wasn’t something we discussed, and both of us had planned to have some drinks, but when the day came it was too hot and we were too busy to want any alcohol. Our bar was very well attended though! We at least did start the day with mimosas on the back patio above our ceremony site with breakfast 🙂

Lauren267:  i didn’t get drunk, I had multiple glasses of wine, but I had a glass of water in between each glass and I was dancing all night, so I didnt give my body a chance to feel tipsy or drunk and I wouldnt have wanted to be drunk bc I wanted to enjoy my wedding. I was also on cloud 9, literally, I was high on happiness. It was such an awesome feeling

I actually didn’t drink at all (we had an open bar), but I was so dehyrated that I only wanted water. We were also going for a more elegant affair and most of our guests drank wine.

librarygirl85:  This was exactly how I was. I just wanted water as well. I had about half a glass of wine with dinner, but that was it.

We haven’t gotten married yet, but I’m curious about this and commenting to follow! I hope I can stay at “tipsy” the entire night.

I was tipsy. Our bartender made surprisingly strong drinks. I had a few cranberry vodkas and some wine. My DH was a little drunk but sobered up before we had to drive to the hotel (and was totally fine).

I had one sip of champagne and that was all. To be honest, I wish I’d at least let myself get a little tipsy during the dancing because we were in Mexico (destination wedding) and I should’ve just let go. I was so focused on “not forgetting the night” and I don’t really hold my alcohol very well so it was probably good in the end, but sometimes I regret not even letting myself have a full drink.
