He  waited one month and one day from the date it was purchase. He might have waited a bit longer but I was going crazy and he knew it!

He waited 2 months until he could completely surprise me and plan the perfect proposal. I didn’t know he was shopping or planning a proposal so I didnt find anything out until after.

DreamingBee:  He had it two or three months.  He bought it after we moved in together (we’d been dating about 9 months at that point) but he was waiting for the peftect moment and also felt like he should wait for the one year mark.  So, to celebrate our first anniversary he took me to Panama and proposed.  My two bestfriends new about the ring the whole time, but did a great job keeping it a secret.  I had no idea 🙂

Well, He put the ring on Layaway in January of 2012, Finished making payments in May of 2012, Proposed September 2012. He was waiting until after my sister’s/his best friend’s wedding in July. So he physically had the ring for 4 months, but he had a ring that he was purchasing for 8 months.

DreamingBee:  It was about 3-4 weeks that he waited once he had the ring. He was so inpatient to give it to me, he almost proposed sooner, but wanted to stick to his original proposal plan (Beach). I think a lot of guys want to make sure it’s perfect, so they plan and plan. I think its so cute how my FI put so much thought into how he would like our special day to happen.

About 2 weeks. Only because it took that long to secure a reservation at the place he wanted to propose at.

Edit: I didn’t know he had a ring. I had to sign for it, he told me it was for work.

DreamingBee:  My FI had the ring almost 24 hours when he propsed. He would have had it for a couple days but there was a freak snow storm and it slowed down all in store deliveries by a couple days. Luckily it came in the day before he wanted to propose. 🙂

My fiancé put the ring on hold 3 months before he proposed, bought it two months before he proposed (soon after I went and got sized) and then had the ring for a little under 2 weeks before he actually proposed.

my ex emailed me on a Friday. I told my guy about it and later in the day he told me my ring was ready that day but that he didn’t pick it up on Friday because of the timing. I was really hurt by it and did say that I had no control over the email, didn’t respond to it, and didn’t see why ex should affect our relationship. the breakup was like 4 years ago so the email was completely unexpected and that was the first time the ex tried to contact me since I started dating my guy. So- my guy was lying. The ring was really ready on Friday and he still went to get the ring even after I had told him about the email. We left for Vegas the next day and he proposed during our trip that Monday. I am so happy he stuck with his plan. The last thing that surprised me was he typically procrastinates with everything! It wasn’t long before the proposal that I showed him the picture of the ring so he also didn’t waste time before ordering it either.

H is nothing if not a man of action. He picked up the ring earlier that week  and proposed on a Saturday night. I had a strong feeling it was coming because a couple of weeks ahead of that he was interested in the kind  of setting and stone I liked.  I answered as if I thought this was a perfectly normal conversation to have in the abstract, LOL.

4 months… It was painful, but just knowing that he was going to propose was reassuring enough for me to relax!

He proposed 4 days after he bought. It had apparently just been sitting on a high shelf by the bathroom. He was going to wait another week or so to ask but he couldnt wait any longer…how cute lol

Three weeks because we were in a LDR at that time so he waited until he visited me to propose.
