I'm like you.
Too bad I didn't find your listing earlier. I was searching for a dress that was my size for the longest time and have since resorted to buying my dress and getting it altered.
I was just married last month and have a designer gown, but have not tried to sell it for the same reasons ( i am only 5'2 and am really tiny).
I would think that you would have a hard time selling it, but you may get lucky!
I am just on the edge of "normal" at 5'3.75" and 125 lbs. I only had a couple of experiences out in the real dress world before I decided on my grandma's dress - thankfully she was little like me! Good luck, tho, I know it's hard to be a little person. :)
Petite here too! Almost 5'2" and proud. I do have a dress for sale that I had altered to fit me (from my first wedding). I wore heels, but we truly cut off over 12 inches! I had pillows made for my mom from the scrap pieces! If there are any other petite brides looking for a already altered dress (size 6 in real clothes) let me know.
I am 5'1" and not a fan of high heels! I was able to find an Alfred Angelo gown and order it in a "short" size 4. I had to pay a little (I think around $50) extra but it fits perfectly with 1 1/2" inch heels. It is not only the correct length but the proportions through the torso are right and it doesn't make me look like I'm a little girl trying on my mother's wedding gown! If you're petite, consider looking at Alfred Angelo for a gown that might fit you without alterations. No where on their website do they mention that they have "short" or "tall" so I would not have known this except for my very able salesperson who suggested it.
i'm one too! looking for a cheap dress! been checking ebay nonstop! everything seems to be a size 10 ug... even at the stores which sucks cuase they all look HUGE... maybe you guys should post pics and price on the dresses you're trying to sell!
This gives me some hope! I really want to buy a Vera Wang style VWG136 or Melissa Sweet Aurora gown. Both are previously-loved and about $2000, still twice as much as my budget. After my October 19 wedding, would anyone be interested in buying it from me? I am 4'11", plan on wearing 3" heels, 32A bra size, and 00P in Banana Republic sizing. My measurements (if I'm doing this right) are bust 30", waist 24.5", hip 31".
Here are pics

Note that the actual Melissa Sweet gown has a sweetheart neckline (third photo).
So, any interest?
I should add that I would re-sell aforementioned Vera Wang or Melissa Sweet gown for maybe half what I would pay for it, ~$1000. (Both gowns brand new retail for ~$4000 and are still available in shops.)
5'2 incher here.. not quite small as you ladies, but I have the opposite problem- my chest is too big for my body so it's tough to find a size that'll work. Honestly, I'm just hoping I find a REALLY good seamstress to change the shape of the dress to fit me. We'll see!! Good luck ladies:)
5'2, 100 pounds, 32A and i wear the highest heels i can get my feet into. the boy is 6'3 and quite a bit bigger than me.
& i agree with superstar, everything on ebay (and in weddingbee classifieds) seems to be a size 10.
I'm barely 5'2 and I am too not a fan of high heels. Good thing tho. my FI is 5'6 so thats good. I bought my dress second hand. And the person I bought it from wasnt that tall either. My dress is a monique lhuillier dress. The skirt is called coco. its pretty puffy. so instead of having the bottom cut. I just had a friend add sum more puffs so it would make the dress higher.
5'1 Bride here. So definitely in the petite section too.
You know I think there is a lot of us out there and we do always have a hard time finding a dress in the right size.
So I think you do have your chances to sell it afterward just because it's a niche and there will be people looking for it.
I'm 5'0", 32A, and 115 lbs (with big hips). It was tough because many of the dresses I liked had detailed hems which I knew would be diffiuclt or expensive to alter. Samples in small sizes are almost impossible to find. I ordered a Mori Lee style 2194 that came in three lengths 55", 58" and 61" (because it has an empire waist, it can only be altered from the bottom). Even with 2" heels I still have to have the bottom altered, but there's still going to be some beautiful embroidery on the skirt. I had to have more than 4" taken out around the bust!
I bought it assuming that I'll likely not be able to resell the dress (I kept my budget under $1000). In case it's possible to sell, the seamstress left a little in the hem to be let out. I did see someone list her Vera Wang on craiglist. She was probably 2" bigger than me on most measurements. It must have taken her more than one month before she sold it for $400-500. Of course it helps I'm in a petite-dense region (then again it sucks for competing for everyday close). ;)

Hi Hive,
I just wanted to take a poll and find out how many petite brides are out there. I'd love to be able to buy my dream dress and then sell it after the wedding, to allow someone else to enjoy a couture gown and recoup the cost. Only catch is I haven't come across too many ladies such as myself, under 5 foot tall and 90lbs. So, I just want to find out if this is a feasible plan. Any one out there like me?
Thanks for taking my little poll!
