I’m a budget bride willing to DIY, BUT if I could eliminate stress/hassle by having someone do my hair inexpensively I’m on it! I know it depends on area (I’m in FL) and various other factors, but please please share Would LOVE to know details- how you found the hairdresser, what syle, # of trials, any tips for finding someone on a budget, photos, DIY tips, etc. Thanks bees!

I did 1 trial, and am doing another with someone else. I hope those will be the only 2. Those, plus the wedding day hair, will be about $300 🙁
If you’re doing a trial, I highly recommend emailing your hairstylist photos and communicating by phone/email to save time the day of the trial. Also, if you’re able to find a hairstylist whose portfolio already includes the style you’re going for, you might be able to get by without a trial. Good luck!

Day off was $85, trial was $60? or maybe even more. I bet you could negotiate on the trial part.

It’ll be $270 for trial, day of, airbrush make up and lashes!

We are paying just under $500.00 for 2 Bridesmaid, my day of, and my hair and makeup trial. This price includes makeup too, for each of us. I have already had my trial, and she was awesome. She came to me and would have stayed all day, if I would have needed her to. She and another stylist/makeup artist will be coming to our venue on the day of to do our hair and makeup. We were going to do our own, but it was stressing me out, so we are having someone else do it. I know it will be totally worth it.

Ugh… I didn’t realize they would be so expensive. Can I just shave my head and wear a wig? It would probably end upbeing cheaper!

$40 and she is really great! I had to book her way in advance. (That’s the average around here.)

My hair trial was free because the salon canceled my original appt 10 minutes before I got there and I had come down to GA from VA so it was a hassle for me. Then my wedding day hair was free because I had a total of 10 girls (including myself) getting their hair done so the bride is free. I gave a $20 tip to my hair dresser both times though.

I am in Florida too with a May wedding…east coast! I found a salon that I really like and it is $65 for my trial, and $85 for my wedding day! My girls are all $65 as well. I called a lot of places and they were all about the same!

I have natural hair… so not anyone can do my hair ever, especially for the wedding. My first trial included a deep conditioner, trim, and styling. That was $150. So the next time I get a trial it will be minus the deep conditioner, and probably about $100. Altogether I think I’ll be spending over $350. That’s why I usually trim my hair myself… but I really want to get my hair in a more healthy condition, so that’s why I’m going to the salon and getting a trial at the same time.

My wedding was in South Florida
My trial was $60.00 and the day of was going to be $85 for a down wave do.
The salon was near my venue and was recommended to me.
I ended up running dreadfully late on my wedding day and my neice actually ended up doing my hair lol
So it ended up free on my wedding day and she did a great job! : )
I did purchase remmy clip-in hair extensions which cost me $100 and a headband that cost me $60.00.
So I actually still spent $220…

- Wedding: September 2011 - Franciscan Gardens
I haven’t done it yet, but my place quoted 275$ for my hair and makeup (150$ for just hair) 75$ for Bridesmaids/Mom’s hair and 70$ for makeup. Unfortunately- this seems to be the going rate for my area 🙁

anyone else? (another shameless bump)
