I ordered my wedding band online, which may seem like a poor decision to you all, so this is my first time trying them on together. And I need some opinions and advice, because I'm trying to decide if i want to keep it!

I really like the look of my big solitaire (e-ring), with all the little baby round diamonds separated by prongs (band). But there's space between the ring and band. Do you think it looks okay?

    Here are some pictures:

Thanks so much for your help!

I think it looks fine, but if it's always going to bug you I think you should get a ring that you have no doubts about!

I know a ton of women on here don't like the space between rings, but I personally LOVE the way a gap looks. Your rings look great! :)

I'm grappling with this right now too! If you like it, keep it! You're the one who is going to be wearing it. Gaps bug me to no end though, so if it bugs you even a little bit I'd say shop around.

Of course it's okay!! I LOVE the look of your band, how the metal on the shank tapers toward the stones. It sits flush on the underside, then gives a sexy little gap between your solitaire and the top of the band. I think it's perfect!!

And honey, there is NOTHING wrong with ordering jewelry online... I personally would not buy diamonds from a brick and mortar store unless they were antiques. The markup is huge. Buying online is a MUCH better idea, IMO.

Love the band with your ring!

My band doesn't fit flush against my e-ring either and it doesn't bother me at all.  In fact, I love that I can wear my band with out my e-ring.  If I would have gotten a band that fit fush with my e-ring it would have been oddly shaped and I never would have worn it with out my e-ring.

I think they look very nice together. My e-ring and wedding band also have a space between them and after awhile I didn't even notice it anymore.

I voted it should be flush but I've totally reconsidered.  I love the look of your rings together.

I wouldn't even consider that a gap because it is such a small gap. I actually plan on having a gap because my ring is marquise cut and I want a straight band.

It looks totally fine! Unless you have rings that go together its going to be hard not to have a gap! My rings have a gap too :-)

My rings have a slight gap between them.  They are soldered together so I don't have to worry about them rubbing together.

I think they look fine.  That is about how much space is between my wedding band and e-ring also.  I personally don't mind it at all.

My rings do that too, but I like the way the two of them look together, and that I can still wear my wedding band without me e-ring if I want.  I don't even notice the gap anymore.  I think yours look beautiful togather, but only you know if it will bother you or not.  I thought it would bother me, but when I tried the curved bands, I found that I wasn't a fan.

I think yours looks great! I'm having the same issue, though. I originally got a bridal set, and ended up exchange the engagement ring for another ring that wasn't part of the bridal set, so they let me keep the wedding band for free. Which is nice of them, and they do look good together... but that darn gap! Like I said, I think yours looks lovely, but I don't think mine looks good... it's going to bother me. So it's your personal preference.

I think it looks fine, especially from above. The side view is a little awkward, but pictures in general don't convey what it looks like in person. If you're not happy with it you'll spend the rest of your life worrying about it. So I would go with something else if it were me. But I honestly think it looks pretty all together :)

It looks very pretty together, and the gap is small. I would recommend soldering them together though, because the rubbing can really have an effect on the separate rings.

I think they look gorgeous together with that slight gap. Yes, from the side it looks awkward - but who is going to be looking at them that way? Pssh! No-one! Go with what your gut tells you, but for what it's worth? It's a beautiful pair! :)

I think it looks just fine! No one will notice but you.

Having said that, I had the exact same problem.  I have a solitaire like yours and wanted a band with pronged diamonds.  The gap just irritated me soooooooooo much! It was suggested to get a really thin band where the gap would be hardly visible, but I didn't like the look.  I ended up with a rounded pave that looked beautiful and no gap.  Another option is to have a plain wedding band and then a diamond anniversary band -- the plain band will close the gap.

I think it looks great as is but if you don't like the gap, I would try looking at solitare enhancers. I got one.

I love the gap!  If you like it, go for it!  I am personally very strongly considering specifically going for a wedding band that doesn't "match" my e-ring.

@graci3: It all depends on what you like, there isn't a definition of it being right or wrong to have a gap. I think your set looks lovely.

Me personally, the gap drove me nuts. Since my taste in rings forced the gap (halo rings) we went with having my whole set custom made so that the wedding bands would sit flush against the E-ring.

It's just a matter of your personal style and taste. If you love it everyone else will too!

I don't think this a right or wrong question. There is no one answer, it is totally a matter of your personal style and preference.
