Long story short- I have a wedding to go to Saturday and totally forgot all about it!! gt his sounds rediculous but I’m growing my leg hair to get it waxed and So I can’t wear a short dress. Would it be totally inappropriate to wear a maxi dress to the wedding?
Note: it’s a DIY wedding in a hotel

Ugh, not a good choice. Maxi dresses aren’t formal enough in my opinion.

I hate maxi dresses and they are way way to informal for a wedding.

It depends on the wedding. If its a beach wedding or a backyard barbeque type deal, then why not? If its in a hotel or someplace even remotely fancy, then don’t do the maxi.

I did a maxi dress last year for a wedding. Dressed it up w/ jewelry. It was 100 degress outside that day….ceremony outside….casual recpetion inside.

Love maxis but wouldn’t wear one to a wedding.

I wore a maxi dress to a wedding two weekends ago end it was perfect!

I wore a maxi dress to a wedding last weekend and so did my sister in law. The pattern on it was pretty, and with a nice necklace and my hair done nicely, it looked perfectly dressy enough. There were some people there who were very dressed up, and others who were very casual.
I think it all depends on the dress and how you style yourself around it. Some maxi dresses are too casual, some are perfectly fine. Would I ever in a million years wear a floor length formal gown to a wedding? Hell no… not unless i was a bridesmaid. That seems over the top to me

I don’t see why not. I’d probably stick to solid color if it’s a formal wedding but otherwise no worries.

Definitely depends on the style & fabric, but I’m leaning toward yes regardless 🙂

I voted wrong, I think it’s overtly fine to wear a maxi to a wedding!

I would say yes for a solid-colored knit, no to a leopard-multi-colored tie-dyed mess like 90% of them seem to be!
