Hahaha – I just was looking at another thread about this…I think Miss Chapstick started it?

It just sounds like the wedding industry is so different, as I’m sure we’ve all learned in other ways as well, and this is an expectation.  I just figure, keep the vendors happy, and this will let the bride stay happy 🙂

I just read your update on your origional post & I really wasn’t trying to imply that you didn’t read your contract! I was just saying maybe the photog didn’t mention it because they figured you’d figure it out thru the contract. Maybe that’s what they do with all their clients? Sry if it came across another way!!

I didn’t think you were trying to be mean, you just didn’t understand why you’d pay for their lunch. If I wasn’t a photographer, it would make no sense to me either, but since I am, I’m really glad you’re feeding them :). Just think, in a way, its helping you out because the vendors will have the energy to keep on going & won’t have to leave your wedding location.

My hall actually refuses to feed the vendors.. therefore we’re getting them all sandwiches and they can eat during cocktail hour all they want.

Ya gotta feed your vendors.  Our photog and videog got filets from no-shows and our 10-piece orchestra were offered premium boxed meals (fraction of the price).  Imagine working a 12-14 hour day w/o a meal.  We let our photog & videog break between ceremony & reception b/c there was a gap, and we shared breakfast with our photog, makeup, and hair people.  Ask you venue/caterer if there’s a cheaper food option for vendors.  I didn’t know about it (was a little concerned spending $200pp on our musicians!), but it’s such a common thing that most places probably offer the option.
