In my first pregnancy, I look back and laugh. I was super baby crazy and couldn’t wait to get pregnant. I was charting, and every cycle (we were NTNP, avoiding fertile days), I had all of these symptoms which I was sure meant that I was pregnant, but every cycle,  I wasn’t.

Then, the one cycle I was sure we had no chance of pregnancy, and I had no symptoms, I was pregnant. Looking back at my chart, the only symptom I had was one morning, about5 days before my BFP, I remember sitting at my desk and having SHARP pains in my abdomen that lasted a few minutes. I just thought it was cyst pain, but looking back it’s more likely that it was implantation.

In my current pregnancy, we were actively trying to get pregnant.

I had one-sided cramping 2 days before I got my BFP (8DPO), and an increase in creamy CM 3-4 days before.

First pregnancy – Nauseous, nauseous, nauseous after about 6 weeks. That is how I knew. It is a different type of nausea and it was constant and all consuming…I knew something was going on. Second pregnancy? Same routine. I do not look back fondly on those days.

lealorali:  I had a mc at 10 week back in November so thought I knew the early symptoms. Nope, thought I was pregnant a couple of times this year but I wasn’t. I’ve given up driving myself mad with symptom spotting!!!

I’ve never been pregnant, but right now I’ve got myself totally on edge over if I’m pregnant or not. We are NTNP and my DH travels for work a lot, but was home for just a couple of days. Of course for the past week I feel like my mind is playing tricks on me – because chances are I’m not pregnant but I sort of psyched myself out. I’ve been waking up feeling a little “off” and have had random bouts of nausea throughout the day here and there. My boobs have been sensitive and I went bra shopping and had to go up a size. Just the other day I had a random sharp pain in my abdomen which I first shrugged off but then had a moment of “could that be implantation?”.

Anyway, all of these “symptoms” are probably totally random and in my head but I guess only time will tell. I did take an EPT a couple of days ago, even though I knew it was WAY too early and of course it was negative. Today is actually 6 days before my period, so I might take another First Response tomorrow morning because I’m driving myself crazy.

shortly before i got my bfp (at 8 dpo!), I was driving with DH and got SO naseous that I almost pulled over. Then, looking back, I had stabbing feelings in my pelvis, I also had very sensitive breasts.

My first pregnancy I had no clue, but tested at 10DPO any got a BFP anyway.  My second, I felt real crappy at 8DPO (cranky, nauseated, heartburn) and tested to find a really faint BFP.

I never had any symptoms (outside of implantation bleeding I guess) until maybe 6 weeks or so and even then they were really spotty (there one day, gone the next) until about 8 weeks when they arrived and didn’t go away for 2 months.

The only thing I noticed during the TWW was A LOT of creamy CM.  But that’s apparently not too common, so it probably won’t help you much.  Honestly, symptom spotting during the TWW seems way more stressful than helpful.  I didn’t feel symptoms until 5.5 weeks in.

Mainly I was just hungrier than normal and if I was hungry I needed to eat.  Normally I get a bit shaky if I wait too long to eat but this was worse than normal and more sudden.  That’s still pretty much my only symptom that seems to be continuing, other than that I had slightly sore breasts and I think that I had implantation cramping.  The cramping is really what made me “feel” like I must be pregnant and I happened to be right.  Now I’m about 5.5 weeks and feeling kind of anxious for more textbook symptoms to show up!

I hope you end up with your BFP this cycle and if not soon thereafter! I am a teacher as well so I understand the stress of trying to plan your pregnancy around the school year.  However, just try to remind yourself that teachers have babies all throughout the school year and it works out.  You might not have an optimal maternity leave but at least you have a baby 🙂

When I was 4 or 5 weeks in, I was doing a century bike ride (I didn’t know then otherwise I would’ve stayed home because it was hot) and I noticed I was a little slower than usual and I ended only going 60 of the 100 miles, I just thought it was the heat or an off day.  I started noticing an increased sense of smell–like when I went to the bathroom it just smelled really off and strong, no matter how much water I drank (and I usually drink 1/2-1 gallon a day, so it’s not like I was dehydrated).  I didn’t really think anything of it for like 2 weeks and realized I was a couple weeks late.  I had just gotten off the pill and thought I’d have irregular cycles for awhile, but I decided to test just in case.  Good thing I did!
