Sometimes I look at our wedding budget and think it’s ridiculous that we are spending so much money on a relatively small wedding. When I divide our TOTAL wedding budget by our estimated number of guests, I get $250 per person. What do you get when you do this ?

cestvrai: Are wedding rings and honeymoons included?
TheSpecial: Hmmm good question. I would say honeymoon no, wedding rings yes. But I guess the answers will depend on what everyone considers to be included in their ‘wedding budget’!

$200 per person – I’ve never really thought about it this way so that kind of surprised me aha

Ours will work out to be about $300/ per person, we cut a cheque to the venue after the reception though so it could be give or take a few dollars.
I estimated the cost based on rough calculations, unfortunately we haven’t budgeted a dollar amount or added up anything that we’ve spent.. I could be off, but not by much.

I’m thinking we’ll be spending about $350 per person.

Ours is a little funky.. we are inviting 114 people, and because we are doing everything ourselves, we are purchasing enough of everything for 100 guests [linens, plates, cups, favors, ect]. We wanted to make sure we have enough for everyone in the event that everyone does rsvp yes. Going by this, it would be around $140 a person.
However, since many of our guests are from 3000+ miles away, we only expect around 60 to show, which brings the cost up to about $233 per person.

cestvrai: somewhere between 250 and 300, depending on how many people actually come. It is rather scary to think about it this way!!!

Mine was $375, which is kinda crazy but not as bas as I thought it would be.

So I just figured mine just to see what it would be and I got $500 per guest for 50 people (kind of took my breath away to be honest lol!) and here’s why. I included our airfare in my total and the package we are going with includes 2 night accomodations for 20 of our guests. I did not include my bridal set b/c they are already paid off. So mine may be a bit skewed and there may also be more guests than just 50 so that cost may be different later on b/c it is a destination wedding.

cestvrai: Total budget with rings is around 42k. We’re having 60 guests to the full day, and another 30 to the evening only. If I divide by the full 90 it comes to about 460 pp but that’s not very accurate as 1/3 of those people won’t be eating the canapés or meal or having the drinks included during the day.

$15k budget, 153 invited, 105 rsvped yes, 92 showed up. So… between $98-$163 per person depending on how you count people. I paid for 105 plates, so we’ll say $142/pp
My total budget included wedding rings and rehearsal/dinner, but did NOT include e-ring or honeymoon.

I got about $235. This includes the honeymoon as well.

My wedding’s history (a year back), but we had invited 80 people. 65 RSVPed. 55 actually showed up. Going with the 65 figure — including our rings, and everything but our Honeymoon — it works out to about $75/per person. $30 of that per person was the food/open bar/chair covers, though.
My wedding was $5k. We had some freebies tossed in that certainly helped, but we would’ve worked out other inexpensive solutions if it hadn’t. I live in the Midwest.
Factoring in my Honeymoon as well, $107 per person.
