We had just over half RSVP yes, but we had a LOT of out of towners and our parents kept adding people that they were certain would not come but just wanted to be invited. We did NOT have a guest list that we expected 100% ‘yes’ for.

@Dell79:  we did. The majority of our guests lived close so there was no doubt that they would be there! The 30 that RSVPed no for the most part were all from OOT

    More votes!

I am hoping for 80% since we’re a tad over capacity right now.

We had about 125 RSVP yes out of 220, but only about 40 people invited were local, so we expected that many people would not be able to travel. We also had an at-home reception with 125 people out of I believe 150 invited.

I haven’t finished getting RSVP’s, but we’re expecting just over half to say yes. We have a lot of out of town guests, so it’s hard for some to make the trip to see us. There are also a lot of elderly people (friends of the family) who are invited, but they are too sick or unable to travel.

@MlleBrielle:  This infuriates me! I’d be tempted to send them a damn bill!!! How do people think this is okay? I understand emergencies come up….but call and let someone know!

I voted 50% or less because of the following reason. We had about 6 different guest lists we were working off of. In my religion, guest lists for weddings are usually very inclusive and large. So I had my list, my husband had his list and all four divorced parents had their list. The wedding was mostly my friends and my mom’s list (which was our family friends from our community and a few of her coworkers that watched me grow up) since we had the wedding where I live and DH relocated from New York. DH had a handful of friends, my dad had one person (plus my family on his side which was on my list too), his mom had a few people and her brother and his partner, his father had one person plus some family. So the guest list was like 350 but our wedding was actually only 130.

It’s good to see this poll. I have a few months before I need to send invitations but I am over the number I wanted so hoping I have a few no’s. I am hoping for 150 max (but my guest list is at 211 now YIKES). Most of the people from oot that I invited I figure won’t be able to come. And if they do, oh well. LOL
