The FI and I were watching the movie New in Town the other day, wearing Vikings jerseys and eating tapioca pudding (wasn’t even planned). And it got me really missing my favorite time of year – winter. All of my best memories are from the winter time here in MN. I met my FI at a military Christmas party, we began dating in the winter time, and he proposed in -30 degree weather while ice fishing on the lake we’re going to get married next to. If I didn’t have to worry about weather affecting relatives flying in I probably would have gotten married in winter time too!
So here’s the reasons why I love winter:
- Beautiful fluffy, glittering snow
- Fleece lined tights and sweater dresses – cute and functional
- No sunburns or worrying about makeup matching a new tan
- Snow tubing and skiing
- Snow days and calls to work saying, “uh the roads haven’t been plowed over here yet and we have 5 feet of snow, I won’t be able to make it in until it’s cleared”
- Driving through huge drifts of snow and wondering is the next one is the one you will finally get stuck in.
- Hot cocoa and the smell of warm apple cider, and of course my famous-hearty-healthy vegan chili!
- Watching out of state drivers attempt to drive on black ice/in blizzards and then ending up in a snow bank/ditch, (and then offering to help them out)
- Ice fishing
- The critters out by the lakes, I love seeing fox and mink especially. The mink look like little ferrets!
- No bugs.
- Caribou Coffee. A campfire mocha (zebra style with half the sugar) is the perfect drink to warm to body and soul!
- -30 degree days and -50 degree nights
- Electric blankets and cozy slippers
- Cuddling next to a crackling fireplace
- The harvest is over and my allergies can finally take a break
- Always having an overnight/emergency bag in my car incase I ever get stuck somwhere. I’m always prepared!
- Massive fluffy ugg boots, I have three pairs and it’s like wearing two long haired cats on my legs, I love them!
The list could probably go on for days but I will end it there. What is your favorite season and why?

crisy003: I think mine is a tie between Fall and Winter. I always say my end of September birthday is the kick off for my favorite time of year. I selected my wedding date to coincide with my favorite time of year. I would have gotten married in December, but didn’t want Christmas and other holidays getting in the way or adding a strain. My birthday is the last week of September, and by then Halloween decorations both in homes and in stores are in full effect. Our wedding will be October 24, and then the following week will be Halloween. After that, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations will be out. Thanksgiving and Black Friday are always great, and then the 25 days of Christmas start soon after that, rounded out by New Years Eve. It is just my favorite time of year. There is always something fun to do or look forward to. Plus, where I live it is hot 10 months out of the year, so getting to enjoy the cooler weather is always an added bonus!

Fall would be my favorite season if I lived in a place that actually had it. I’ve been on a couple of trips up north during autumn, and it’s absolutely beautiful and cool out.
As far as Florida goes, winter is my favorite because we don’t start to get cool temperatures until December sometimes.

Fall. I love wearing sweaters and scarves and boots and jeans and any type of “fall” clothing lol. It’s so comfy and I don’t have to worry if I’m feeling fat that day haha. I also love the changing of the leaves. There’s something so comforting about the colors of fall. I also love the temperature in my area. Not hot, not cold.

Fall. I love sweater weather and apple cider donuts.

Summer for sure. Love the weather, bonfires, float trips, swimming, weddings, everythings just at a slower pace, DH is actually home at a decent hour!, baseball games, don’t have to worry about driving in snow, cute dresses, flip flops everyday. Spring and Fall are too cold for me, and planting and harvest just suck as a farmer’s wife. The only upside is football and cute boots/scarves in the fall, but I would be overjoyed if I never saw winter or spring again!!

I’m going with the majority and saying Fall is my favorite, and for many of the same reasons! I love the crisp air, the turning leaves, the scents (outdoors and “fall” candles), scarves and sweaters, hot cocoa, etc. I will say that I also love summer- going to the pool, pina coladas, snocones, and many more!

Fall! I love wearing the clothing, football season, the foliage, apple and pumpkin everything, the cool weather, Thanksgiving, etc…

Winter, but fall is close behind. I love the snow, wearing warm clothes, roaring fireplaces, throws, and curling up with a good book and a warm cup of cocoa.
I’m having a winter wedding because I love the season so much.

It’s a toss up between summer and fall for me.
I love the sunshine and longer days of summer and summertime outdoor activities on the water. I love, too, that it’s still light out when DH gets home in the evenings and light enough in the mornings to work out. Fresh fruits and veggies at the farmer’s market! Plus, I’d rather be warm than cold any day.
But fall is gorgeous – beautiful leaves, perfect level of warm/cold weather blend, great time of year for campfires, best farmer’s market foods of the year, and that crisp air that always makes me think of high school/college football games.

Summer has always been my favorite because growing up that was when school was out and we went to the beach or the swimming pool, and since the ocean is my favorite place to be, naturally Summer was always my favorite time of year. But recently with rising temperatures and a seemingly never ending summer here in California, I’m really starting to miss having actual seasons (not that we ever had true, true seasons, but I do remember actual changes in temperature before global warming took over) and a crisp, cold day sounds really nice right about now….

I love Fall!! 🙂 Around here in South Dakota, all of our leaves are just starting to turn golden and beautiful, I love jumping in the leaves with the neighbor kids and watching my dogs come inside with leaves attached to them everywhere. Football, of course, apple picking and bonfires. Sweaters and boots. Halloween and pumpkins.
I didn’t want a fall themed wedding, but I love fall and everything that goes with it otherwise.
