I’m driving myself a little batty with invitations! I’m a graphic designer by trade, so of course will do my own. My FI has ABSOLUTELY NO OPINION on invites, and my mom hates everything that isn’t PERFECTLY PLAIN. At first I was trying to keep it simple, but now I’m thinking colorful and fun (since I’m not going to please my mom on this one).
I’ve asked BMs for opinions, but I can’t tell if they really think something is great or are just being supportive. In the meantime, I keep designing new invitations and just need to PRINT ONE already! What do you think?

i think it depends on what sort of a theme you’re going for.
i personally view the first one as more formal, where as the second one is more casual.
they’re both gorgeous though!

i agree with ceamoste that the first feels more formal and the latter more casual – but i chose the first because it was less “busy”.
i think if you were to make the orange floral background less opaque the wording would be easier to read and feel less busy?? my eyes don’t know if they should be focusing on the orange or the purple text.

I think the second one is too tropical and busy. The first one is nice but there is something lacking about it. I think its the way the font is centered on the card or the shape of it or something.
Here is what we did, not sure if it helps at all.

Thanks, all! I thought this would be an easy and fun aspect of wedding planning, but it’s really one of the most challenging details so far. It’s much more difficult than I imagined to take what I do all day for a living and apply it to my own wedding. If I felt confident about either choice, I wouldn’t have asked for feedback.
@cazos: I love your invites and really appeciate the constructive comments. There’s a difference between knowing THAT you’re stuck and seeing HOW. Thanks for taking the time to share.
