Hi bees! Last week my SO and I went engagement ring shopping… EEEK times 8 million!! Anyway, we narrowed it down to two settings that I really like. Both are white gold and very similar with milgrain and diamonds on the side. The second one is more detailed, but it is also more expensive and I’m not sure I feel comfortable asking him to spend that much. Of course, he keeps saying “don’t worry about the price!” but I still do because that’s just how I am. So, please let me know which one you prefer. Do you think I will miss the extra detail if I go with the Gabriel & Co. setting (which I also love and was convinced was the one until the Beverly K caught my eye)?
My thinking is, my wedding band (passed down from my grandma) will cover up most of the side view anyway! Thanks in advance 🙂
Option 1 – Gabriel & Co. Victorian Straight Ring (14k)
Option 2 – Beverly K RTJ008 (18k)

I like the first one, less busy and I like the smaller prongs, makes the stone look bigger.

I like bling and stuff going on…so I’d go for no. 2

I prefer #1. The side diamonds look like they’re bigger than the ones in setting #2.

@MrsZynxy: Have you seen them in person? I only ask because I ordered a G&Co ring and was very surprised at how much smaller, thinner, and daintier it was in person than it looked on their website, and it was a very similar style with those swirly profile designs 🙂

@MrsZynxy: I’m not a big fan of the engraved/detailed sides on rings. I don’t imagine it will hold up that well either. FMIL’s ring has details similar and they’re definitely showing signs of wear (it’s 33ish years old)

I love both but if the first one if more affordable, I’d go with that one! The extra detail on the second setting is stunning but it’s mostly in parts of the ring you won’t get to look at that often anyway.

I usually go with classic and simple, but there is something about that Beverly setting that is special. IMO it has a real wow factor.

I picked the first one. I think I’d get tired of the second one after a while.

@wrkbrk: Yes, I tried them both on! I actually loved how delicate the Gabriel one was. I feel like the pictures don’t do them justice at all 🙂

@MsMeow: That’s kind of how I’m leaning. I was blown away by the first one before I even saw the second one!
@MsGinkgo: Interesting, thanks for the tip!

@MrsZynxy: Oh ok! Just wanted to make sure you liked delicate rings! I was surprised because the pictures looked larger, lol 🙂

@MrsZynxy: I absolutely love the second one. It’s almost exactly like my ring, except mine is a halo. My favorite thing about it is how it’s so beautiful and detailed on the sides.
As far as the price, I would not base your decision on that. It’s important for your fiance to be able to give you what you really want. That makes guys feel good.

@hisgirl10: I love the side detail, too! Is your setting also by Beverly K?
You make a good point about SO wanting to give me what I really want. I forget it’s not always about the money!
