I am getting married in January and decided to get my bmaids sweats, a zip up hoodie and a tank top that says bridesmaid or maid of honor. However, today I thought since it is winter and it will be cold, wouldn’t it be cute if we got ready in sweats, tights, whatever and longer flannel shirts? no? yes? I would want ones that arent completely manly and lumberjacky and possibly would monogram them. I can return the hoodies but would need to find the perfect flannel shirts first. Which would you rather have??

I’d rather have a flannel because I’d wear it again! I probably wouldn’t wear anything that says “bridesmaid” ever again.

Are you going out of the house to get your hair done? Are any of your girls concerned about their legs?( I assume there will be pics taken.) If they are, I would suggest you not do tights.

Honestly I would want none of it. I would want to be comfortable in my own clothes and not potentially uncomfortable in something the bride is making me wear. But I personally think things with bridesmaid/MOH are an utter waste of money. They will never be used after the wedding by your BM’s.

@julies1949: we are getting ready in a hotel suite then going to the chapel..but i figured they could wear sweats or tights with the shirts? eh i dont know

@j_jaye: thats kinda why I wanted to get something comfortable like sweats.. you can’t tell me you arent comfortable in sweats lol over like a robe or something.. but I get your point! 🙂

I never wear sweatpants, so I would probably feel a little uncomfortable in them simply because they’re not “me”. However, I’d get over myself and wear them if you wanted me to.
I’ve also noticed around here that not many people like things that are monogrammed, so I would worry that the shirts wouldn’t get worn again if you monogram them. Ask your bridesmaids though, they may feel differently. Do you have a picture of the type of shirt you’re considering?

I’m seriously considering yoga pants and cute, baggy button up shirts [so we don’t get our hair & makeup messed up when taking them off].
Even if you aren’t into yoga, yoga pants are super comfy.

Shirt & leggings. So make up & hair stay neat.

Out of your choices I love the robe idea w/ ‘bridesmaid’ on it. You could get them in a certain color for them, and yours can be all white. I also love the idea of robes that say bridesmaid. I say go for something matching for pictures, but that’s just me.

Sorry, I don’t want any of it.
If you do proceed, please don’t get anything with their role on it. Plain is best as it gives the best chance for re-use. I don’t believe in getting something just to get ready in.
You are never going to do anything with those pictures. Who displays pictures of themselves with half a face of make up, or rollers in their hair? No one, that’s who.
So I think it’s a huge waste of money. Something that is better in theory then in practicality.

@j_jaye: +1 Giant waste of money to write “bridesmaid” on anything. I’m only a bridesmaid for a day! plus I would just feel like a prop if I had to wear a matchy matchy outfit for getting ready.

Umm yeah, that would be a no go for me. To me anything that has the word “bride” or “bridesmaid” on it is a waste of money. If anything, get them something they will like and will wear again if you insist on having “getting ready” clothes.

Personally, I’d rather be comfy in my own clothes. And I’d rather you didn’t spend money on something because I would feel obligated to wear it
