I'd like FI to wear a grey suit for the wedding. He doesn't have many occasions to wear a suit--maybe once a year. He owns one suit, its nice, wool, black w/ white pinstripes, but I think its a little dark/heavy looking for our July wedding.

Anyway, I figure it's not the worst idea to buy a new suit, even though he won't wear it often. We found one at Burlington coat factory, it fits and was only $140. Sound great, except its a polyester/modal blend. I know wool is better, but we don't really need the suit to last forever, just look good for the wedding. Is this a bad idea? Should we keep looking for a wool suit?

I think this is the suit: http://www.bonton.com/product/men/suit+separates/kenneth+cole+reaction+suit+separates+coat+-+black-white.do

I would keep looking for an affordable wool suit.

it takes a little looking around but you can definitely find affordable wool suits. If you have a filene's basement near you, they're having a suit sale and have great prices on a huge selection of suits. Polyester is not a breathable fabric and it would be uncomfortable to wear on a hot July day.

Thanks sbee! I hadn't really thought about the breathability issue!

We'll keep looking (but maybe keep this as a back up plan). We really haven't been able to find anything! I thought a two button grey suit with flat front pants would be easy to find, but so far it isn't!

Have you thought about a cotton/linen suit? MY BF gets hot EXTREMELY easily and frankly can't wear wool suits because he'll start sweating profusely. We've been thinking about getting a linen suit with cotton blend, so that he'll be more comfortable.
