I am not getting married for a little less than a year but I am doing my own hair so I want to start practicing now so by the time the wedding is here I am completely comfortable.
We are marrying on the beach and I want to go for casual but bridal. like I am not trying so hard but that I still look like a stunning elegant bride. I do not have a dress yet, but a few in mind. I want a big skirt, but one that is flowy and still laid back. Waters Austin is a dress I like a lot: (without the flower on the sash)
Regularly I would wear my hair down and flowy, but with beach wind that would be a disaster.
Would a whispy high ponytail look “bridal” enough?? I have a vision in my head, but I don’t think I have ever seen a bride with a ponytail lol. I would probably add a hair flower f some sort.
thoughts? honesty is fine by me. i won’t be offended. I don’t want to look like a soccer mom on my wedding day.

freshflowers: I think it all depends on the rest of your look and the feel of your wedding.
I am a ponytail girl, people rarely see my with my hair down, and I dont even thin I will be casual enough for one on my wedding day.

Honestly I’d look for some sort of updo. But perhaps some inspiration pics could sway me.

freshflowers: I think those kinds of ponytails look lovely. Especially for a less formal wedding. If you’re comfortable with it, go for it.

I think the third look is bridal enough. You just need some “oomph” in the back to make it more special than a regular “I’ve got sweat on my neck” hitting the gym ponytail. The waves make it very charming. You could also do tiny braids along the side of the head(not overboard! maybe one or two) to give it a bohemian babe look?

I think it’s fine as long as you have it look, like, naturally teased, like the first and third pictures. The woman in the second picture looks like something’s in her hair giving it that shape, which I think looks weird. Is that Jessica Biel in the first one? She looks hot.

How about something like this?

freshflowers: it depends how it’s done! My hair definitely had a ponytail element:
I wore a flower hair thing on the other side. I think it was pretty dressy!

I really love the ponytail idea and like the 1st and 3rd that you posted!

I think rocking a pony is a great idea, especially for a more laidback wedding. Olivia Palermo (total fashion goddess!!) just wore a pony for her wedding 🙂 Personally, I love the first inspiration pic you posted, or the second if it was a bit less polished.

Here’s a picture of Olivia’s ponytail and wedding look:

I think all of the pics you posted are lovely. I’m a ponytail girl too, so I may be a bit biased.
