Well it is insured but it is only like $50 to replace it and I'm sure our BIL will just pop a new one in no hassle. When i got my ring I decided I probably would lose a few stones over its life--I have 24 little stones, so it's sorta bound to happen.
Yes it does look like it lost a tooth! If anyone notices it, i'll say it got into a fight and that you should see the other guy, lol. =]
It's definitely not in the hotel room...maybe the car, maybe it fell off while i was walking, i dunno. It's too small to see.

thanks ladies, i knew you'd all lament with me. DH just said, "oh that sucks....wait, how did you notice it was missing?" then i had to spill the beans about how i like to watch it dance under the light a little too often...like at the airport...and on the airplane...and at dinner...and while i'm typing...and talking to him on the phone.... =P

@crebre, no, the GYM does. There are SO MANY LIGHTS. I love it. It's the best place to watch the sparkle.

Drats! I know what you mean about watching diamonds shine under light though - shhh... that's what I do when I'm bored at a meeting.
I found it in my carpet about 30 minutes ago. Thought it was some trash, went to pick it up, and it was my diamond!
Found it the day I gave it to BIL to fix, lol. Randomness. =]
yay! also--- i am totally obsessed w/ watching my ring too. the bathroom in our hotel room had the best lights for it so i spent a lot of time in there in mexico! lol. also i have totally spent too much time looking at it while driving. i need to be safer...... but so sparkly!
Oh! So glad you found it. What luck! I really need to get my ring appraised and insured. It's an heirloom and I feel weird about doing that. Like I'm saying to FMIL "OK, How much is this thing really worth?"
That reminds me to get FH onto upgrading our insurance, at the moment we have just put it with our house and contents but that under insures it.
we need to do some research and findsome good inexpensive insurance that fully covers it.
I was going to comment and say sorry, but now I get to say yay! It's not everyday that you would find the diamond! That's awesome!
