Can you please give me your input on this?
My wedding colors are purple and silver. I decided to go a little unique and made purple colored chocolate pop cakes as a seating chart. I attached their name and table number to the tags and covered the bottom with silver foil shreds. What do you think? Should I keep this idea?

I think it is a very cool idea! Are you going to put them all in a tray or something so the silver tinsel is contained? If you leave it loose I feel like it will get all over everything.

Cake pops sound wonderful….foil shreds do not! They will get EVERYWHERE. Your venue might change you an extra clean-up fee. And, to be honest, they look a little messy. The cake pops sound yummy, though, I’d love to get that as a favour! Maybe just find a different way to prop them up, or just lay them on the plates? Or wrap the cake part in plastic with a ribbon?

Yes, they are a wonderful idea but please cover them in individual pieces of plastic (maybe with a silver ribbon?). People will be leaning and breathing all over them looking for their name. Children’s hands will touch them. Also people may not want to eat them right away and may want to set them at their tables.
As for getting them to stand up, I recommend purchasing floral foam and spray painting it silver. You can add silver trim with a hot glue gun as well to polish it up.

no to the shreds, yes to the pops 🙂

Thanks Bees! they are actually proped up in styrofoam and I have some shredded foil on top. I will change that in order to make in cleaner..

Great idea, just make sure that it’s cool enough so they don’t melt!

Why not do something like this at the entry? It would be a lot easier to have one large display than to make each one seperately.

Maybe instead of the foil you can wrap the styrofoam in a silver fabric and punch holes in it where the pops go?
I LOVE the pops idea but am also not a fan of the silver shreds.
Also, can you post a close up of a sample name tag? They look like they could be hard to read, but maybe it’s just the distance.
I also wanted to suggest maybe putting a little decor on the pop instead of just purple.
I really really love the cake pop idea!

I love cake pops too! Please wrap each one individually – they will keep longer and people will feel better about eating them.

@MrsBroccoli: omg yes to this. I would definitely not eat mine if it wasn’t wrapped in something.

I love the idea, but do not like the foil shreds. I would wrap them in little bags or stick them in styrofoam. The foil looks messy and will get messy

@MrsBroccoli: Agreed on both the wrapper and the silver spray paint. This would make it a LOT easier to transport, too!

@Juliepants: This…I love the cake pops, but HATE the foil shreds. Not only is it messy, it just reminds me of a six year old’s birthday party to be honest. Silver ribbon would tie in the colors in a much more sophisticated way.
