I am having an “Old Hollywood” themed wedding. I’m completely obsessed with Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and the feel of that era so I am wanting to have a very vintage/glamourous wedding with lots of pearls/bling and full pale pink roses. I found a rental company near my house that has a really vintage looking popcorn machines and I was thinking it might be cute to have it set up during the reception maybe near the candy buffet. Plus I found that you can order popcorn bags in any color and have them personalized so I think that would be really cute too. My fiance’ said he thinks it is tacky to have popcorn at a wedding, no one would want popcorn at a wedding and that he does not want the wedding to smell like popcorn. Give me your thoughts. I would really like to know the public opinion on this.

It would be amazing to have as a midnight snack. They can take it with them/eat it on the way home. Either that or a cocktail hour snack!

I LOVE the idea and I think it totally goes with your theme. If he doesn’t like the smell of buttered popcorn, you could always try kettle corn.

I think it’s a great idea! The mix of salty and sweet would definitely be appreciated. Only the corner where the popcorn is will smell like popcorn and most people like the smell of popcorn (maybe wait until after dinner to have it pop though.)

We just gave a mini version of a popcorn machine plus candy, movie passes, etc to FH’s cousin as a wedding gift. She loved it!
Personally I hate popcorn but I still love the vintage look and think it is an awesome idea. Another idea to go along with the popcorn and candy table would be bottles of soda pop with striped paper straws. I’ve seen pics of this at weddings and it looks great.
