*bump* ...anyone? Now I don't feel so bad that I couldn't think of anything myself!! :)
i sat ours down and "proposed" to her.
"Officiant- FI and i have been talking about it lately and we were trying to think of people who knew us both together and apart and who were able to articulate and help us express our emotions on our wedding day. We couldnt think of anyone better than you to be our Wedding EMCEE!*(down on one knee) Would you do us the honor?"
and her response was pretty priceless..
"What the heck is a wedding EMCEE!?**"
*- i got pretty high pitched. (think Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories "for FREEEEE?")

We asked my childhood preacher! I know longer go to church there anymore but my Fiance and I went to church and after the service talked with him and asked him if he would marry us! He was so honored!

FI and I are getting together with the pastor we hope will officiate our wedding. The pastor thinks we are just hanging out for a little bit after work. He's been a friend for years, and we go a long way back. FI doesn't really have a relationship with him yet, but was very pro having him officiate.
I'd like to do something outside the box/creative to ask him to officiate our wedding - but am coming up with ziltch! Does anyone have any ideas? This guy is totally kick back, funny, could take a joke, etc... He knows we are engaged and I'm sure it's crossed his mind if we'll ask him... but I haven't mentioned anything to him yet.
