I'd love to weigh in, but I only see pics of Hayden and your hair inspiration pic!
Sorry it went so bad. I actually had that picture of Hayden Panettiere saved as an inspiration pic. I have my makeup trial this weekend and now I'm worried!
I am sorry that it didn't go well!
I think that she focused too much on your lower lash line rather than the top and I don't like that but your foundation looks really good!!!
Your hair looks NOTHING like the picture, the curls look a little too structured. Because you paid $200 (I can't believe how steep that is) did she offer to do anything over again for free until you like it????
I'm sorry you weren't happy!!! :(
I really really like your hair, though!!
I was so upset by the time it was done I just wanted to leave. She didn't listen to me when I suggested changes, Oh and it was 15 dollars for some cheap walmart eyelashes which looked stupid too. I think after seeing my hair down I want it up like this now
If you noticed to with my hair in the pictures I brought with me- the girls hair is wavy on the top not straight like a wave how she did mine. It was just frustrating because she wasn't getting what I was saying
I think you look really pretty but agree with Future Mrs. Martin that the lower lash line could be softened (as could the curls on your hair) to get you much closer to the look you're trying to achieve.
I hope she'll give you another go-round since you weren't happy with the results.
Good luck and please keep us posted!
I agree with Future Mrs. Martin - your lower lash line is way too defined relative to your upper lid. And I'm also astounded by the $200 trial fee. For that amount of money, they should keep trying until it's *exactly* what you want.
It's 155 each time I go in...how stupid is that. So needless to say I am going to look else where. What did everyone else pay for their trials?
Awww... that stinks. Your eye make up turned out to be nothing like the inspiration picture, which is the obvious focal point of the makeup.
I'm sorry that your trial didn't go well and that you felt you wasted your money. Maybe seeing if you use a different type of make-up? For example MAC always tends to be studio make-up which is always a little heavier. Also, maybe seeing other stars that have blue eyes so that she can see that what you specifically wanted does work with blue eyes. Also depending on how much make-up you wear on a regular basis could maybe be the reasonwhy it felt caked on? Or maybe actually wearing your dress will make you feel like it wasn't so heavy? I hope this helped a little bit...
Mine's going to be $150 total: trial and wedding day for hair only. $200 demands they do it till they get it right!
Sorry to hear that your trial didn't go as well as you'd hoped! And goodness, that's an EXPENSIVE trial! Your makeup definitely doesn't look much like your inspiration...
That being said though, I think that the inspiration picture looks more porn star than your picture!
Oh! I forgot to add, but you should maybe also think of shading in your eyebrows, just a little bit though! It would make sure that your eyebrows look a little fuller and stand out. Girls who have blonde hair normally tend to do it for their make up since their hair is so blonde. I still think you looked pretty though!
Wow...my trial is 90 ...the actual wedding day is 150...that price is wayyyy steep.
I do agree that you need to have a bit darker makeup for photo's. but I don't think she did a very good job on your makeup in general. It seems like you could of done that yourself. It doesn't look professionaly done to me.You are pretty girl and I don't think anything could make you look terrible, but I would look some where else.
I'm sorry that your trial didn't go well...that is a lot of money to spend! I may be in the minority, but I actually think your picture looks good...based on the inspiriation pic it looks like she did go lighter on the eye makeup...are you used to wearing a lot of makeup regularly? I say that because I went for my trial and thought I looked like a tranny, but in pictures they looked great...but it was only because I wasn't used to wearing tons and tons of makeup...but the artist assured me I needed a lot for pictures...
She used airbrushing for the foundation which to me was a little heavy. I've had airbrush before and it never felt caked on. I am going to try another salon in the area. Most of the salons around here are expensive *sigh* gotta love Connecticut. The other place I looked at was 185 for hair and 155 for make up. It's frustrating. I would do my make up the day of but I want to be pampered for the day. I am paying good money for the photographer so I want to look good in my pictures too.
I want my make up to be a sun kissed look on the face and the eyes to be a little smokey with some browns and gold tones.
You may have hated the make up, but that lost $200 now is nothing compared to what it would have been like if they had done that on your wedding day! You're lucky, I think you dodged a bullet on this one!
When you go to a new place you should bring these pictures so they have an idea of what you don't want. You're beautiful no matter how they did you up but they definatley did not do your hair or makeup like you asked.
$200 is HUGE for a trial, especially if they wouldn't fix it until it was right. I don't think you need airbrush--a good MUA will make your skin look smooth without spraypainting you!
Something is not right for sure if that was airbrushed makeup and it seemed heavy. I've had everything done from been covered in gold paint to regular old foundation and airbrush makeup is the only thing that feels light and smooth to me. My skin is super dry, so much so that I never use any foundation because it's just too much and forget it with powder and I was shocked at the outcome with the airbrushing. Did you check the place out via yelp and other customer review sites? I might leave reviews and maybe even call and try and get some money back. Look it up online but airbrushed makeup should feel almost like a fine mist or moisture going on then that's it, yes you can tell you've got makeup on but it's the closest feeling to there's nothing there. Good luck!
@andreaandchinelo- I don't usually wear a lot normally, she put a lot of make up on me- the airbrushed is suppose to be a light make up, she spent 20 mins doing it and had liquid foundations under it.
@greenleafmountain- exactly lol I am glad not to have them do it on my wedding day.
@bvig- thanks :) I will def bring the pictures with me to the next place and explain what I don't want
@spaniel- I don't wear a lot of make up to begin with, I put a little bronzer on here and there and some mascara but that's about it. My friend said the same thing- she was like your skin doesn't need that much make up on it. It was a little too much for me. I wanted to look sun kissed and natural.
I agree with some others, your inspiration photo looks wayyy more porn-star than your trial! I think that inspiration photo is a bit too heavy for your coloring! Goodluck for your do-over! I hope you can find what you're looking for.
I don't think it looks bad at all! Granted, it doesn't look like your inspiration pictures, but I don't think you look like a porn star, LOL!
In the Hayden pic, her eyes are MUCH darker and smokier. And the hair doesn't look like your inspiration pic, but it's still cute! Did you have extensions put in? Why does your hair look shoulder-length in one pic and so long from the back?
The back side picture is with the jessica simpson extensions. The other picture of me facing forward is my natural hair blown out. I want make up that will make my eye color pop out- I told her I wanted more browns with a shimmer and the liner to be in the inside part of my eye instead of it smudged under. If you look at the picture of hayden her eyes are lined nice and neat, there is smudging but not sloppy.
I am sorry to hear that your trial did not turn out well. $155 is A LOT of a trial. I think you are right to look elsewhere. There are plently of affordable places that can listen to what you are asking for and do the work you want.
i dunno, i think looks okay. but maybe darken your eyebrows a bit if you're going to go for a smoky/dark eyeshadow? i think that's what looks off to me.
I think it's very smart of you to stand up for yourself and know it's not what you like so that you're sure to get something you life for your wedding day. Good thing you did the trial so you didn't feel like a porn star in your wedding pics! I'm sure you will find someone good to use makeup to enhance the beautiful bride you already are!
I think you look pretty good, but if you are not comfortable, yeah no way. I don't see why she can't use the colors you ask for. My makeup trials went the same way, a complete waste of money and did it myself after all of that. Good luck...
A TRIAL at my salon I work for runs 75 each time. Omg, I am sorry that they kind of suck. :/
I don't know much about makeup, but comparing the two pictures of you and the girl from Heroes, her complexion is much darker than yours, so I wonder if she can pull off darker eye make up more easily? Maybe the look needs to be lightened up a bit for you?
Also, it looks like you have more makeup under your eyes than over them - that's not normal I don't think (Like I said, I know nothing about makeup... hah)
I honestly really like what she did with your eyes, but think that your foundation is a little thick. For $200 she should have listened to you more! WTH! I'm sorry she wasn't very good in her customer service! I hope you find someone who can give you what you are looking for.

They made me look like a porn star..ugh..I am so angry. And not to mention it cost me 200 for a TRIAL! So I was super excited to get my make up and hair done today for my trial too
I was using hayden panettiere for my make up inspiration and taylor swift for my hair (the picture of the hair is how I wanted it to be styled with more curls though like taylor swift) ...The make up was REALLY caked on and it just didn't suit me. *I had the jessica simpson hair piece in the second picture*
You can tell I was less than thrilled with my outcome because when she asked me 1000 times I was like I dunno I don't think it's good for me. She was like it needs to be dark for the pictures....also when I suggested that she use more lighter shimmery browns on my eyes she was like that wouldn't work with your blue eyes
Look at the crappy eyeliner smudge crap. It looks like a hooker did my make up seriously. Hayden's eyes are outlined nice and neat. I was not happy, I called on my way home and cancelled them. *they make you put a deposit before you come in for your trial* so it just sucks because it's 200 dollars down the drain. Oh and the best part after we left- there is a big porn store down the road lol My friend and me walked and just to test out my new look haha.. atleast we got to poke fun a little bit
