Thought I would try for a Meet up one more time Before my move on March 27th! Anyone else in?
i'm new but would love to come, if it's at a time when i can make it!
sweet! i'm going to be in portland march 18-25
Hi everyone! I'm new here but would LOVE to come to a Portland MEetup if one was started. Hope to talk more with ya'll :-)
Welcome Newbees! I'd love for you to join us!
@dns567-I'm really shy when I first meet people, too!
If pdxbride is availible the 18th through the 25th, Does anyone want to do the 20th or 21st?
If we do end up doing it on the 20th or 21st...would it be possible to make it a daytime event? I'm only in town for a few days and my evenings/nights on those days are already committed to other things. But don't plan around my schedule! just whatever works for the most people!
Day time would be good for me, since I normally work in the early mornings...also the week after that is going to be really crazy for me...
daytime on the 20th would be the best bet for me! especially if it is somewhere east of the West Hills... i'll be coming on bike and don't want to have to deal with trimet!
Where abouts in Portland is everyone located? Might as well think of places to meet up while we decide on a time. My parents are over in SE Portland. Near the popular part of Division/Hawthorne area.
Yay! So glad this topic has started up again! I'd love to meet up; either of the days mentioned so far would work for me too. I live in SE Portland, around Hawthorne/Belmont, but can easily get to downtown as well. Around my neighborhood, there is a cute little cafe at Belmont and 30th called The Happy Sparrow, owned by the nicest people, and they serve yummy pastry thingies called kolaches... or how about Crema, over by 28th and Burnside? There's also a nice cafe at 30th and Division called Cafe Palido or something... Just some ideas!
i vote for Crema. i will always vote for Crema. Even though I live in North Portland.
oooh i vote for crema too! haha...but open to other ideas!
Oh I vote for Happy Sparrow, but that's only because my dearest friends started up that shop! :)
@July2011bride: You're friends with Danny and Mary?!? They are soooooo cute and sweet!!! I love having their shop in my neighborhood! And those kolaches-- oh.my.gods.... <droool> Even if we don't meet up there, everyone should give them a visit, wouldn't you agree?
@futurebean - Yes, my finance grew up in Texas with Danny. They have known eachother since they were kids! Yes, I just love those kolaches...I just came back from Texas and Happy Sparrow was by far better than anything there! I was so excited to see their place listed on here I just called up Mary to tell her (she did not answer though :)
I'm out in the metro area/Raleigh Hills. It's easy for me to take trimet or whatever. So from what I am gathering it's the happy sparrow or crema? lol. I haven't heard of those before.
I've never tried happy sparrow, but I'd be up for that too! I don't think I've ever gone somewhere I don't like on Belmont so I'm sure it will be excellent.
@vistagirl:have fun on your honeymoon! where are you going??
Vistagirl! That's really eciting! where are you going?!
I think the Happy Sparrow would be fun. Does anyone else have ideas/suggestions and/or thoughts?
Have we decided on the 20th or 21st? And what time? It sounds like there are a number of votes for Happy Sparrow...any objections? This should be fun!
I work late on the 20th, but I'm off by 12:30 on the 21st.
What about 3 PM at the Happy Sparrow on the 21st? Does that work?
ETA: Also, does someone have the adress so I can plan the trip with Tri-met?
Here is the website to get the address: http://www.happysparrowcafe.com
They are closed on Sunday's though
This makes me sad! haha. They'd be closed by the time I got off work Saturday at 5. What about Crema? Other suggestions?
Aww, that's too bad... Maybe the next go around at Happy Sparrow!? Crema is good with me, but I'm open to other suggestions as well... Mother's downtown? Around 1 on a Sunday maybe they won't be too bad...!
I'm up for Crema or Mother's. And yea, if we want to do mother's it will definitely have to be in the afternoon. Every time I go there in the morning it is ridiculously packed!
I will be workking until about 1 on Sunday, but maybe able to meet up afterwards. I can't go Saturday bc I'm going to Davids to try on dresses
.
I would love to meet up with you all though! IF I can't make it this time then I will definitely be down for a next time! I live in Beaverton, BTW, and there's a great coffee shop here called Java Nation-they are the last remnant of Coffee People that is left, so I support them 100%!
I'm bumping this since the weekend is getting closer and I know we all have busy schedules...
I think His Barista, who has spearheaded this meet-up more than once, should make the final decision and just tell us all when and where to meet!!
I just saw this thread and would love to join the meet up! I also live in SE Portland, so it would be easy for me to get wherever you all decide. I can meet up on Sunday any time in the afternoon, so just let us know when and where! Also, I vote for Crema over Mother's because of how packed Mother's always is...
I agree with futurebean...
@HisBarista: Since you work til 5 on Saturday, let's go with Sunday. You tell us...what time and where?
Since we are getting close to the weekend hopefully someone can make the call soon about Sunday. I'm still in if you decide to meet up
I've been on a trip for a few days! Sorry I missed all this. Glad you were talking while I've been away! How about 2:30 on Sunday at Crema? I'm off at 12:30. Does anyone have that address? does that work?
Address for Crema: 2728 SE Ankeny Street (near Burnside)
2:30 Sunday works for me! See you ladies then! :-) Should I just walk in there and guess who I'm meeting there? LOL this should be interesting.
our friends just decided to pay to bring us up to seattle for the release party of the record my fiance just finished mixing, so i'll be unable to attend! next time, hopefully. have fun, everyone!
I will make a table tent or something! hope to see more of you there!
Or what if we all wore a certain color? Green, red, purple? So that we could identify?
I wish I was visting my grandparents in oregon so I could meet you amazing bees!
