I recommend Dosha Salon in NW Portland here: http://www.dosha.org/bridal.html
and I have had good experiences at the Nordstrom's Lancome and MAC counter in Washington Square Mall. Have fun and just make up your mind ahead of time what your priorities are such as foundation coverage, colors, eyes, etc.. then you won't get swept away in the sales pitch. Also, it helps to take a friend along who isn't afraid to tell the truth. Post pics here if you can after you're done!
Hope this helps!
For the record, I had a great experience at the Washington Square Sephora. The guy who did my makeup had a very natural eye and picked colors for me very instinctively. He also was VERY good in his approach to selling me the products: I felt no pressure to buy things I already had decent versions of or that I wasn't crazy about.
I recommend. :)

Hi ladies,
I live in the boonies of SE Washington and plan to do my own make-up. I'm going to be in Portland next week and one of my tasks will be to get my makeup done and buy a bunch of stuff to use myself on the big day.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go? I was planning to make an appointment in the Sephora in the Washington Square Mall. Comments on this? Is there a better store to go to elsewhere? I'm looking for a place where there will be talented makeup people and salespeople who are more interested in helping me to find the perfect things rather than just selling me any old stuff.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
