Darling Husband and I recently began TTC. AF is due (but hopefully doesn’t rear her ugly face) on March 7th. I O’d on February 20th, and had some OPT’s left over, so I took a few just a bit ago and the test line was slightly darker than the control line on all three (hard to see in the photo). I’ve heard of people getting a positive OPT when pregnant, but I’m not sure what to think. What do you all think?

@smcopp89: Have you taken a HPT by now? Its highly recommended. I was curious by your question and did some googling, as I am sure you have and it says it could mean you are pregnant, but no guarantees.
If OPK’s are used as a HPT, then it has a high rate of false positives and false negatives as it tests a different hormone.

I think it’s time to take a pregnancy test 😉 Haha but I never had any will power…you would be 11 dpo now? Quite a few people get a BFP to show up by 11 dpo (including me!) and some people don’t get it until later.
OPKs aren’t a reliable as a pregnancy test, but it is true that if you do get a + pregnancy test than often times the OPK will be + too, because LH and hCG are so similar of hormones, and the OPKs can pick up hCG and it will act the same as LH and make the test turn darker, but LH will most definitely not show up on a HPT. So only sure fire way to know is to take a HPT! Good luck! FX for you! 🙂

@ThreeMeers: @cowgirlace: Thank you ladies! I have done some research and I’ve read about all of this as well. I did take a HPT (a cheap blue dye one), and it was negative, though the blue dye ones never really read well for me (the control line barely shows up). I’ve gotten my hopes up before, so I may just wait until Friday to see if AF comes, and if not, I’ll take another HPT then. Thanks for all of your help!
