I just want to say that I am really glad to see WeddingBee evolving with user demand. I feel like the Bees, moderators, and hostesses do a really great job of welcoming everyone to the hive, no matter what stage of engagement/marriage you are in. Imo, the recently added features and boards make it easier for more people to feel at home on WeddingBee because there is a wider range of topics and an easier way to personalize the website to your interests (by filtering, separating wedding and non-wedding threads, etc…). I’m just really grateful that everyone on WB works so hard to keep the community aspect of the website.
The main reason I prefer WeddingBee over other online communities is because of the noticeable attitude of acceptance of all people/views/ideas/etc… Whether you are pre-engagement, post-wedding or even if you aren’t in a relationship, the community here has always welcomed the diversity of opinion and perspective of our unique group of posters. WB has always had an “everyone is welcome here” approach, and I think the recent changes show how that attitude extends beyond simple discussion by embedding these fundamentals in the website design and features.
So thank you Mr. and Mrs. Bee and all you bee-hind (hehehehe) the scenes workers! I really appreciate the recent changes made to the site, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves in the future!

I agree – I’ve only been on weddingbee for a short time, but I like the new changes and all the extra board topics. Really helps narrow down what you’re looking for, want to talk about that day.

Where is the “like” button on this thing? 🙂

i agree, now that I know that there are filters and how to use them I think the changes are pretty awesome!

I’ve been using the filter buttons this week. I’ve been on here almost a year now and have never had a need to use them. But no that there is more topics to choose from I like the filter buttons.

This is really nice to see! I think Mr. and Mrs. Bee worked really hard to make this a community where everyone feels at home 🙂
I also think we have the most wonderful community members who make this a really special place… So I want to say “Right back atcha!” to all the board bees who make Weddingbee a joy to come to every single day 🙂

Thanks for writing this, it really gives me warm fuzzies to read this because Mr. & Mrs. Bee work so very hard to make this site what it is, and so does everyone else behind the scenes! I have to say, though, this is also a really outstanding community, so a big kudos goes to everyone around here. So many of you are so good at helping us catch spammers & keeping things so warm and welcoming around here!

I couldn’t agree more, Lillindy. Yesterday I saw a post that should’ve been in the Classifieds, and a board bee had politely commented and directed the poster to the classified section. And then no one else said anything — that to me is a sign of a healthy, functional community, where we’re all on the same page and want to help out! I love it!

I also like that the site is still run/managed by Mr. and Mrs. Bee. If you go to most sites and you have a question/problem/suggestion you can send them a comment which will get lost in some box in cyberworld and you’ll never get a response.
I think its awesome that Mr. and Mrs. Bee are still active and read the site, respond to questions and comments, and take peoples’ feedback into consideration. It’s like a cool neighborhood bar vs. going to applebees.

Thanks guys. Although as much as I’d love to take credit, the idea for the category filters (i.e. Wedding Related, Not Wedding Related, etc.) came from one of our hostesses – tessabella76! And we couldn’t have done the re-org without constant feedback and input on the boards categories from all of our hostesses and bees. 🙂
I’m wrapping up the boards re-org, which will be my last project before taking a break from the site… but it’s nice to go out with a bang!
