If Mexico is on your list and you’re on a budget, check out Excellence Playa Mujeres. They are all inclusive with great food and fairly good wine included, and include free use of their hobbycats.

Check out the reviews on TripAdvisor, or even on the bee! I’m going there in December (went to Excellence Riviera Cancun 2 years ago) and I can’t wait!.

Mauritius/ Seychelles/ most places in the Indian Ocean are pretty good that time of year but quite far to get to! Kenya is a good option as well, safari plus Diani beach – white sands, very private feeling.

If you wanted to stick to the America side of the Atlantic then many of the smaller islands in the caribbean are much more private. The weather is better the further south in the caribbean – aruba, trinidad etc are all good for weather, beaches and humidity.

ALSWM:  KateA17:  I live in Mauritius and was totally going to suggest coming here until you said “not too humid” !!

January is probably the hottest month here, but is pretty humid. It’s also cyclone season so you could have a week of sunshine, or a week of rain, impossible to predict when buying your tickets. The first time I visited in 2012, it was Feb and it rained the entire time we were here.

ALSWM:

Just had a great time vacationing down in the Florida Keys actually. We did scuba and sailing it was a really great time 😀 Plus since it is so remote it didn’t even really feel like FL to me.

ALSWM:  Check out Yok Ha Resort in Belize. It’s beautiful, AND it’s a 3 acre island 9 miles out in the ocean. They have an all inclusive option, but there are only 5 cabanas on the island so it’s never crowded. TripAdvisor has good info. The food was incredible – fresh caught (as in that morning) lobster, conch, snapper, etc. Ahhhh I want to go back!!

(My husband also hates humidity, and while we were there in January last year the weather was perfect!)

ETA: Oh my gosh – I thought I remembered something about a sailing package so I just went to their website and found…

Boom! It looks amazing to me – I wish we could have done this package! Maybe next time! Because we will definitely be going back to Yok Ha some day.

The view from our cabana’s front porch. Awesome place to just hang out on the hammock with a cup of coffee.
