Quick question: We are printing the return address directly onto the invitations (it’s a print-your-own kit) and hand writing the guests’ addresses. Where does the return address go? On the front, in the normal return address spot, or on the back on the flap of the envelope? The documents I downloaded for my invites have an “envelpe back” and “envelpe front” and it made me second guess where it goes. Thanks!

I like it on the back personally but it’s all up to what you like. Why don’t you print one for each and see which one looks the best to you?

Thank you both! That’s what I thought, since there was the option for it, but I figured the bees would know for sure!

I recall reading somewhere (don’t recall where) that according to the post office the correct way is in the upper left corner. Always want to keep the postman happy. Not sure if this is actually correct, but just what I remember.

We printed ours on the back flap.

Since you are printing the return address, I would say on the back flap. That way the printing and the handwriting doesn’t clash.
In my opinion, the ideal answer would be to handwrite the return address too, and put it in the regular place, upper left-hand corner, on the envelope. That way it keeps the postman happy and it doesn’t clash either.

I really like the formality that it gives envelope to have the return address printed on the back flap.
I think almost every wedding invite I’ve ever gotten was printed that way and formal mailings I get from my school often are too so the postman doesn’t seem to take too much issue to it! 🙂
