LO woke up this morning at 8. napped from 9-1230, 130-3 4-5 6-8 fell asleep at 830 again.

when she wasn't napping she was a little cranky. not horrible but not herself.

when given a bottle she has a hard time swallowing.. will choke a little and refuse the bottle. also she will only take a bottle if she is at the beginning stages of sleeping. we have to swap out her binki for the bottle quickly.

    will take her binki.

she has a cold. (shes getting over her cough, but still has a stuffy nose)

are these signs of an ear infection?

    NOTE-im not a doctor.

it doesnt sound like it to me. Ear infection signs are mild fever, hitting/tugging at the ear(s) affected, pain when sucking on bottle or nipple or paci, and sometimes diahrrhea, ear discharge, and a smelly ear. Teething pain can also mask as ear pain sometimes. We thought Liv had an ear infection last week, but it was teething pain.

To me, it sounds like these are side effects from her cold. If her nose is still stuffy, she will have a hard time eating and sucking-or having anything in her mouth-because babies are trained to breathe through their noses during these things.

Only your doctor can diagnose the infection, but none of what you listed says infection to me. Good luck :)

I agree, it doesn't sound like it. I would guess growth spurt!

You could always go into your doctor just to get her checked out.  Our doctor alaways said the first three months are the most critical for infections/colds; plus, it always made me feel a little better to get the "official" all-clear from the doctor.  :)
