I think they could work. Have you tried out the Instyle Virtual Hair Makeover thing? I did that to get an idea of how I'd look with bangs like that before getting my haircut. Turned out to be pretty accurate. I printed the picture and brought it in for my stylist. Just google it and try it out.
A word of caution: it takes some effort to maintain the bangs at a workable length so make sure you have the time to pop back into your salon for a trim. I would go in about every couple of weeks for one, which wasn't a problem at the time since my salon was on the way to my school but now that I'm no longer in school, it doesn't make sense to pay $5 for bridge toll just to get my bangs trimmed for free. So no more front bangs for me!
@tea: My hairdresser showed me how to trim them myself, so I wouldn't let that sway me. I'd want bangs if my wedding wasn't coming up.
@redheadem: Agreed. I never pay someone to trim my bangs, it takes like 5 minutes. Just get them professionally done the first time!
Based on my super-scientific method of covering your forehead with a post-it, they should look great!
@jeangenie: Your super scientific method made me LOL! I made an appt for tomorrow, yay bangs!
I had hair like yours. I went and got bangs, best hair decision ever. But your face is perfect for your hair style as is and what a great color. My face is kind of long.
It took 5+ years off my face!
However, I see you have a cowlick like I do, so don't think you're going to always have them nice and neat straight down like Halle's! You'd have to do the side swept bang look which is what I have.
I got bangs on a total whim a few months back and have had a great time with them! My stylist was just cutting them shorter so we could test it out and when she had them still longish and things were looking good we ended up just hcopping them. However she left them on the long side so I could try the bangs for a few days then sweep them soon after if I hated it. I ended up wishing she had cut them shorter because I ran out of time too fast!
Besides - It's hair, it grows back, and quickly :)
Well I didnt want to "hell no" but I wanted to vote...hmmm not sure. Lol first of all you're gorgeous and have really pretty hair! Im growing my bangs out from drastic bang cut a few months. I always get so excited for a change and I love it for a few days, maybe 2 weeks then I say "whyyyy ohhh whyyyyy did i cut my hair" lol So I don't know how you feel but that is ALWAYS what happens to me. Always. I am a big fan of long front pieces right now but I definitelyyyy think you could pull it off and it would look good on you. For me I hate the growing out stage and I hate how I cant just pull my hair back in a pony without hair in my face lol. JUST ME THOUGH. It really is a fun fix and if your hair grows fast then that's even better :D
@MissTX: You're so cute! Thank you :-) I used to have longer bangs, that were more side swept, and I loved them, but also want to try the blunt, shaggy kind. My hair grows really, really fast, so I feel like if I dont like them, I could blow them to the side after a month or so. This is me a few years ago with my old bangs. I wanted something more straight across, but are these better?
.
I think you have a great face for bangs, do it!
I have straight, shaggy bangs and I LOVE them. I've been a total slacker about trimming them in the past few months so they are rather grow out, but they are my favs.
I think you'd look good with them!
I think you would look beautiful with bangs! I'm getting mine the DAY after the wedding, haha.
I think you would look great with bangs! Please post a picture when you get them cut.
You would look great with bangs. I recently got bangs I find them to be more work but love them.
The bangs will look great on you! As long as you don't mind keeping them up...they are very high maintenance :)
I think they'd look great!
I've been thinking about bangs myself but haven't had bangs since I was like 10 so idk. lol
I say DO IT!
@redheadem: & @jeangenie: true, thankfully I never had to pay to get my bangs trimmed, it was just easy for me to pop in since the salon was on my way to school so everything worked out that way. However, I totally don't trust myself to try and cut my hair while looking in a mirror. That's a bad idea waiting to happen
Here they are! I love them-but wish they were a smidge longer. By next week, they'll be perfect :-)
You're beautiful, and I think you would look great with bangs. Also, have you worn your hair short? You have a great face for short hair.
Go for it.
BUT...if you have oily skin I dont recommend it!! I used to have bangs and would get pimples on my forehead a lot because my hair kept on touching my skin. Now that I dont have bangs anymore, I barely get pimples on my forehead anymore!
@kaylee26: I did have short hair for a few years, the inverted bob style....I loved it, but SO and I are planning on getting married in 2years, so I've been growing it out for 2 years :) Thank you so much :)
@WantToBeM.E.: You must have posted the new pic before I posted. The new do looks wonderful!
