Hey!
Check out Wedding Chapel by the Sea
http://www.weddingchapelbythesea.com/index.cfm
they have special arrangements to do weddings on private areas of the beach [you are not allowed to have your wedding on any public area of the beach in Myrtle]
Hope that helps!
I'm getting married in North Myrtle in August BECAUSE ITS JUST AS LOVELY AS MYRTLE AND THEY LET YOU GET MARRIED ON THE BEACH.iF YOU WANT TO GET MARRIED IN MYRTLE THAN IT HAS TO BE DONE ON A HOTELS PROPERTY THAT WOULD OVERLOOK THE BEACH.
i'm getting married in the OBX, we rented a house and will be on the beach deck or in the great room if it rains. Maybe you can rent a house?
I am also thinking a north or south carolina beach wedding. I love the area and it is a reasonable driving distance for most of our guests. Questions about renting a beach house in OBX, don't you have to pay a TON more for the place just because it is for a wedding? I have looked a little bit and it seems like the wedding mark up makes it out of budget.
Google "beach wedding NC/SC". I first considered this, and there are several companies that do planning for this. I was leaning towards Ocean Isle Beach, which is actually NC. This is one of my favorite beaches to go to anyway because it is quieter, not so commercilized, and more family oriented. There are a couple of resorts there that have wedding packages where you can get married right on the beach.

Both are very pretty. Good luck!
@relaxedforonce - Actually that isn't true, at least for Myrtle Beach. You don't have to use a hotel or resort. We are getting married on the beach at Myrtle Beach State Park.
@rockermeg - Check out http://www.grandoccasions-inc.com/index.html - Elizabeth is my wedding coordinator for my wedding. She was very reasonable and has worked very closely with me in planning everthing. She has more than gone above and beyond to help us out. I cannot reccommend her highly enough. If you're interested, I have a planning blog about my wedding that includes my MB vendors and such: http://ninjabear-wedding.com/ Good luck!
Many of these posts are of great help. There is a new law in MB proper that does not allow for weddings on the beach. So you will want to make sure you are either north or south of MB city limits. Most of the professionals around here are well aware of this new law, but better safe than sorry.
If I can be of any service regarding your photography I would love to hear from you!
Thanks,
August

I just searched this since ours will be in North Carolina. You have to get a time and location from the people that runs the beach for a permit to have a gathering on the beach itself. If you want an evening you can also build small fires on the sand but you have to get a permit to do that as well. Type in a yahoo search engine - can I get married on the beach? and it should pop right up.

We are considering having a tiny wedding on the beach at Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Does anyone have any reccomendations about where we could do to do that? Is there a chapel or something you know of that has a beach area that a wedding can be performed on. We would like it to be fairly inexpensive.
Also do you know if anyone of them would mind bringing our own pastor?? Basically we want to have a small wedding on the beach but we are trying to find some business that can guarantee us a beach spot to do it.
Thanks!
