- Wedding: October 2013
When we get married in October I will have been engaged for 2.5 years. We have been together for 12 years (highschool sweethearts!) and were planning to get married in Hawaii. Due to some health issues that my FI’s mother was having we had to completely change our Hawaii plans – the travel wouldn’t have been possible for her. Thus the long engagement – I have essentially planned two entire weddings. I bought my wedding dress about 6 months after getting engaged and thankfully I have not changed my mind about it after all this time. I don’t have a pic available right now on this computer of me in it, but I will be wearing JCrew’s Principessa in lace & organza. Its simple and understated and I love that it doesn’t look like every other wedding dress. Here is a picture of it on a model:
I am a little uncertain about my shoes though. We are having a black tie, evening wedding and I’m wondering if my shoes are too casual for this type of event – especially since they are flats. These are what I have… the Landyns from Vera Wang’s Lavender line.
Lately though I’ve been looking at things like these Badgely Mischkas
Our wedding doesnt have a theme, but the venue was built in 1926 and it shows. Lots of character. You walk in and instantly feel like you’re in the 20s, so certain wedding details have leaned toward the vintage side. Our colors are black & blush with lots of gold and cream accents. The shoes I have now are a light gold in person. What are your thoughts girls? Stick to what I’ve got or do you like the others better?
